Down in Oxnard last winter, every time I went into Ralph's and paid with a CC, I had to show my ID. I asked what was up with this, I would think once would be enough. They said, it sure is, we will get you a Ralph's card. After that I did not need to show ID, just my Ralph's card.
I get the concept. Let's rephrase:
"Here in America, you need to show ID to purchase everything from beer to weaponry to cigarettes to prescription drugs to a vehicle. If you pay with a check you get carded. In many cases if you use a credit card you have to show ID. And yet, in almost literally the only chance the populace has to regulate their government officials, ID showing proof of citizenship is not required. I guess banks and stores care more about their $$, and governments care more about their ability to tax, than many Americans care about who is governing them."

Trump says believe what he SAYS, not what YOU think he means. He actually said you need picture ID and i can't remember the last time i shopped and needed any ID and i do all the shopping and use a debit card. It is fake news.
Varies by store policy. There is no law requiring it. Checks have also become very obsolete as it has probably been at least 10 years since i ordered any checks from my bank.
I’ll gladly drink your Hamms if/when you invite me aboard. I was homebrewing back in the days when the craft beer industry was still shitting it’s diapers, and I became quite the beer snob, brewing beers most folks had never heard of to that point. But once the ball really got going the whole craft beer thing got ridiculous. It got to be about the concept and less about the execution. Everybody wanted to do something no one else was doing and and suddenly the market had very few really good beers and a plethora of mediocre stuff. Now days (when I actually drink) I usually go for the Pabst, Oly and Hamms, especially in the summer. No beer EVER tasted better to cut the dust after a long hot day. If it was good enough when I was 16, it’s good enough almost 50 years later.
My father and uncles all had pubs after WWII...in the 50s I used to go down to my dad's pub as a kid and get chewing gum...I remember the smell of Hamms beer really well...folks back there drank Hamms, Storz, PBR, Bud, Schlitz and Miller.....when we got turned 18 we took trips to Colorado to get that fancy new beer Coors.....you're right...in a hot cornfield driving a combine or harvester...any of those cold beers was refreshing....but we rolled Bull Durham cigarettes too.
