Or, the first tax cuts did wonders for taxpayers at all levels, so maybe it follows logically that letting people keep even more of their own money might be a good thing?

They haven't done anything yet. They take affect next tax season. Oh, and they won't do wonders for tax payers at all levels. The rich will reap by far the best benefits.

Withholding amounts were supposed to be adjusted by employers no later than March 1st to account for the changes in the tax code, so people started seeing increases in their take home pay months ago.

I haven't seen much of a change in mine

All levels?
Yep. My niece is making minimum wage, and she's taking home noticeably more money every payday with no change in hours. Her father works for the state, and his take home pay has increased.

Withholding rates have changed. Tax rates have been reduced. People are taking home larger amounts.

You live in a bubble of denial.

The economy here in Beautiful Central Oregon is rocking and rolling like never before. Seriously, every career field you can think of is thriving and new businesses are starting up at a steady rate. People are moving here from every state in the Union. Real Estate is busy and prices are strong but historically correct.

Such an amazing difference from the last 40+ years, an actual stable economy across the board.

I've seen my withholdings drop and takehome go up, with the same M4 exemption plan.

My take-home had gone up quite a bit. Will see how much I owe next tax time. Not spending any of the money.

In the mean time the air gets dirtier, the water becomes more polluted, insurance rates are climbing, gas prices climbing, more people are losing their health insurance and the banks can start scamming again. Isn't it wonderful.

Thanks Obama!

Most of this is untrue.

What is true is the Obama Individual Mandate is gone, saving me thousands of dollars. Because I have no insurance (Obamacare price is now over $20,000 year for my wife and I) I get a 40% discount from my Dr., the Med Center, and the hospital. Gas is about where it's been off-and-on since 2002. The air is clear here, my auto and home insurance both WENT DOWN considerably as did my Verizon bill. Banks will always scam, they never stopped. They, with Bush/Obama's TARP-DoddFrank shell game, scammed US out of over $400 billion.

Just don't get sick, because that little bit extra will count for jack shit if you do.
It will count for more than the entire tax returns that were pilfered from me for two years in a row under the shitty, unethical individual mandate.

A mandate that was written by Republicans and The Heritage Foundation who passed Romneycare before Obama ever laid pen to pad.

Are you suggesting Obama was willing to put his name all over a disastrous bill written by greedy Republicans? I believe it.

There's this thing... It's called compromise...

There's this thing...it's called fucking people over.

It's easy to compromise when your pockets are getting filled.

The only people politicians refuse to compromise with are the ones they are supposed to be representing.

Take personal responsibility and buy healthcare. If you don't, you're a drain on the economy and you make premiums go up for the rest of us. Plain and simple.

Um, no. People who get everything for free are a drain on the rest of us. I work for a living and am therefore seen as an ATM machine for Democrats to withdraw money from. I get no help from anyone, I only provide. Get your shit straight. You are suggesting I should buy unaffordable healthcare to help prop up an industry proven to be price-gouging. That is your definition of "taking personal responsibility". That is fucking absurd. It's only "plain and simple" when you over-simplify it in childish terms.

Actually no.

What we spend on war makes that a drop in the bucket.

We spend 620+Bil on defense. That's more than the next 10 countries COMBINED.

We have plenty of money. Our priorities aren't straight.

I'm not suggesting you do that at all. I'm a single payer guy.

Great points. So my personal choice shouldn't really be much of a drain on the economy. My wife and child have coverage, I refuse to go to hospitals unless I think I'm gonna die. Personal moral decision. I don't think capitalizing on people's livelihood is moral or ethical.

Me too, if you can believe it.

I believe it. The single payer part.

With regard to you not having healthcare and refusing to go until you're about to die?

This action makes my premium higher. Plain and simple.

2 words: personal responsibility.

I'm happy for your niece but she better not count on Medicare or Social Security.
