The more people there are, the more jobs there are - that's an economic fact. We've had 4% unemployment with 340M population and back when we had 280M. The 4% figure is presumed to be the number of people who are between jobs, not long term unemployed.
Undocumented immigrants do not get welfare or social security, even though they do pay taxes (even income taxes).
300M people form South America wouldn't come here, though. People do like the countries they come from, and stay, for the most part.
You think if 300m people with barely any money came into our nation, enough resources would magically appear for them, wherever they happened to settle?
