Of course it was different. They just usually do a presser for a player acquired in a trade or the drafted players though as well.

Could have been worse. They could have introduced 34% of the guys. But somehow theyd have to cut one of them up and only have part of him attend to get to that figure.

I think Olshey's statement that there were a lot of names out there that they never considered indicates they didn't pursue Gasol (and definitely not at $20 million), nor Pachulia and very probably also not Whiteside.

Was this press conference before or after the Crabbe offer? Because it sounds like Olshey doesn't expect a roster spot opening up for Alexander; he talked about having him in summer league to showcase for other teams so he would have a chance to make a team. But Stotts seemed to be uncertain who would be on the roster; as if he wasn't sure they would match on all. I think Olshey just sees no role for Alexander and wants him to have chance to join a team that can utilize him.

I'm guessing if they don't match crabbe his spot will go to another shooter, so no room for cliff either way.
