We have expertise (not to mention there is a ton of expertise fleeing war, coming across the border). We don't have the labor. They definitely have the labor. We have plenty of money. And they will nearly all make money there, in one way or another. And those looking for a new start would likely be eager to get in on the ground floor of what would likely be a huge hub in no time.
There will be need of services, commerce, food, and again, some manufacturing could move in for better paying jobs as well.
There is no reason it wouldn't work and fully support itself. You live there for a while for your papers to come through then you can move into the US legally.
It's going to be a desirable place for a lot of people to be. Therefore, there will be opportunities for commerce.
