New York Times reports the thousands of female soldiers in Ukraine are not properly equipped. They are wearing men's uniforms and shoes, often way too large. The vests were designed for male bodies. Nearly all have yeast or urinary tract infections due to lack of places to urinate.
It's been over a year! Time to recognize women fight too.
Ukraine definitely needs to do better. I think they have more women in combat positions than any nation in history. As for places to urinate. no one has this in combat zones. Hopefully the army will provide better education as to the need.
Here is little bit about just one combat medic:
Euromaidan Press
·
Natalia Depa, a resident of Lviv and a combat medic in the 218th Battalion of the 125th Brigade died at the front. She had enlisted with her father and brother when the invasion began. In civilian life, she owned a cosmetology and laser hair removal center.
Natalia’s brother and father confirmed her death.
“I wish I’d been a better brother. I regret doing so many bad things and not saying so many things. You’ll always be in my heart, my dearest sister,” wrote Ivan Depa, Natalia’s brother.
The head of the NGO Varta1, Ihor Zinkevych, announced the tragic news. Natalia’s friends also shared their memories on social media.
“You were my beautiful friend. You were a combat medic in the logistics division of the 218th Battalion of the 125th Brigade. You died for us, so that we could live in peace and safety. You died saving others. You were always smiling and cheerful, a brave heart, a friend who was always ready to help. You were my support and pride. Thank you for everything. I love you,” wrote Oksana, Natalia’s best friend.

This is the most heavily defended bridge in the world, not sure how these missiles got through, if that is what happened. Some russians believe it was surface (water) drones.

Is that near where Ukraine was sending multiple drone boats loaded with explosives at the Russian navy yesterday? I could see them using that as a diversion to move assets from the bridge to protect their ships.

No that was the naval base at Sevastopol, which is near the west end of Crimea. But i see your point. If they were scarce on air defense they might have shifted some.

All traffic has been stopped from crossing the bridge. There was probably a couple civilian deaths of people in vehicles but appears Ukraine tried to minimize casualties by hitting at 3 am. All ferries have stopped operating also. I don't know if Britain has authorized the storm shadow missile to be used in Crimea.

Welcome news...now, if only Ukraine could somehow definitively keeps tabs on Putin's whereabouts...and "send him to hell on a shutter".

Putin has made one major accomplishment with his invasion...he has made NATO much, much stronger and expanded its membership
Here is a good example of that. Minister of Defense for Lithuania: Anusauskas said the dictators should "be scared of their own shadow" and not underestimate the power of the Lithuanian army which will gain additional capabilities soon, including HIMARS, NASAMS, and electronic warfare tools.

A Ukrainian fencer and Olympic champion was disqualified from World competition when she refused to shake hands after soundly beating her Russian opponent. The Russian fencer had posted social media pictures of herself wearing a Russia soldier's hat.

One again, Ukraine girls really knock me out.

Luckily the IOC has qualified her for the olympics and fencing commission has now changed rules so handshake not necessary.

Here is a summary of what is happening militarily;
"After the initial flurry of action on the southern front line, a marked shift in Ukraine’s tactics could be observed.

Ukraine continued to assault Russian lines, but did so mostly with dismounted infantry, systematically advancing under the cover of artillery fire.

Meanwhile, videos released by Ukrainian units showed an uptick in counter-battery attacks targeting Russian artillery, in particular with GMLRS rounds from the HIMARS and M270 systems, as well as with cheap but precise FPV (first-person view) kamikaze drones, which are playing an increasing role in the war on both sides.

This picture is backed by the data on Russian losses published by the Ukrainian General Staff, in which Russia is regularly reported to have lost several dozen artillery pieces in a day, compared to earlier in the year when the daily figures were mostly in the single digits. "

This should be a wake up call to Putin and the Russian military in general. They are getting the shit kicked out of them though they were certain at the beginning of the invasion that the war would be over in about a week.

Russia's military has now been exposed in recent years by both Afghanistan and now Ukraine...and I would not be surprised if Putin and perhaps even the communist government itself, is overthrown.

The west provoked this war and sabotaged negotiations. They used the blood of Ukranians in their foolish little proxy war and quest for global domination. The Western media sold this war to a gullible public by with a comic book story line and a constant stream of lies and propaganda.

Now young ukranians are being forced at gunpoint to enlist and be sent in as cannon fodder. The Anglo-American empire is run by psychopaths...it's disgusting. They control most of the media and thus keep people under a spell.

How do you folks think this conflict will end then? Ukraine will prevail and Russia will retreat from the Donbas reation with its tail between its legs?

Nobody knows how it will play out but my hope is that it isn't with nuclear fallout. That's already been a risk with the power plant that was INVADED BY Russia. Only one side has the weapons capabilities to cause it that way. Again, the side that was the invader/occupier. You must think that was a just action by Putin. I do not.
