I don't think Trump has an understanding of anything.

One can certainly go broke overestimating Trump's cleverness, but maybe the key to this statement is that he's going to put tariffs and sanctions on Russia "and other various participating countries".
My guess is "other various participating countries" are mostly named Ukraine.
And hey, if there are sanctions on Russia and Ukraine, then we can't give arms or aid to either one, right?

Hopefully he means N. Korea and Iran, but who knows with Trump? He is still quoting casualty figures in the war that are way off. He still thinks russia took the main losses in WW II when it was actually Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova. He doesn't understand that the Istanbul agreement would have been giving up Ukraine's sovereignty. He understands that russia economy is suffering but not that russia has lost a lot of the territory they took in 2022 and that they are suffering more casualties every day than they can replace. Hopefully when Zelensky meets with him they can present the true picture in an easily understood format.

In one of his best videos, former Navy seal Chuck Pfarrer discusses the January 14 and 24 attacks, calling them the largest and most sophisticated in military history. His presentation is also very sophisticated, replete with video, photos, maps and graphics, as he explains the tactics necessary to get through russian air defenses. I wish Trump had the patience and inclination to view this; he would have a much better understanding of how the war is going for russia..

The best way to understand russia and Putin is to listen to a russian who has been close to Putin.

Trump was going to end the war in Ukraine his first day in office.

I say if he can return all Ukrainian land (including Crimea of course), then give him all the damned rare earth minerals that the wants.
As if there was ever any doubt that we'd get a favorable deal for rare earth minerals with Ukraine if we helped them get all of their territory back?

It's all just another reality TV show for him.

$100 billion missing. Surprise surprise.

I know you don't believe in links, but could you give me a hint about... missing from where? According to whom?

More bad news today. This is much weaker than Obama who they criticized so much. Are they really so stupid or is Trump really a russian asset?
@Kasparov63
A surrender to Russian aggression, selling out Ukraine and US interests for nothing. They don’t even make a case for one of those quid pro quos he’s fond of. What is the US, or Trump, getting from Russia after these gifts? Certainly not peace.

I mean the guy who claims to be king of dealmaking gives up everything before negotiation even starts? Does that make sense? Ukraine has done all the hard work: destroying 2/3 of the russian army. taking russian territory, and pretty much holding the line elsewhere. Put Trump in a great negotiating position. And he just gives up??

Trump has always been a terrible negotiator and failed businessman. He played a successful businessman on a reality TV show. He admires Putin and has been helped by him. He's a bully cowering before bigger bully, Putin.

He is a Russian asset. Regardless of if he knows that or not.

I have never heard Trump administration describe Zelensky as a friend, or Trudea or Macron or Starmer or even Scholz and yet they describe Putin as a friend. Kim Jon Un is another one that Trump describes as a friend.
"Trump and Putin's friendship is likely to continue, it will be beneficial for everyone," — US Presidential Special Envoy Witkoff
Don't they sound like partners?

I am just livid today. I never thought I would see such betrayal of everything America stands for.

Here's hoping Europe picks up 150% of the slack and knocks the hell out of Russia.

Really put the pressure on Trump so we can get rid of his ass soon.

Once we get rid of these MAGA clowns we can try to make it up to them.

Let's compare to Trump statement on talking with Putin. Entirely different tone. Why doesn't he acknowledge at least that Ukraine took much heavier losses in WW II than russia did?
President Trump:
I just spoke to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine. The conversation went very well. He, like President Putin, wants to make PEACE. We discussed a variety of topics having to do with the War, but mostly, the meeting that is being set up on Friday in Munich, where Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will lead the Delegation. I am hopeful that the results of that meeting will be positive. It is time to stop this ridiculous War, where there has been massive, and totally unnecessary, DEATH and DESTRUCTION. God bless the people of Russia and Ukraine!
