Umair and MrJ vs. J_Ray and Blur

Opening week of the 'Tag Team Tourney' has finally come. Battles will consist of 2 verses from each team. A verse can consist of color-coded mini verses from each battler, or it can be one huge combined verse. The deadline for finishing the battle will be next Friday (February 9) at 12AM E.T. During the tournament each team will have a total of 5 battles against every team, and the top teams with the best records face off for the championship.

Here is the schedule for the first week.

Team 1: A.F Venom and Notorious
Team 2: Umair and MrJ
Team 3: J_ray and Blur
Team 4: NTC187 and Remix
Team 5: Swish and Epidemik
Team 6: Chutney and Carter

Screw this, im not gonna wait. It was close in some ways, but in other ways J_Ray and Blur excelled. Mr J did great, with hot multis, and his little link thing, which even though its been done before was executed well. The only problem was Umair, with choppy and mostly non-existent flow, some good lines, but a LOT of fillers. My vote goes to J_Ray and Blur.

I'ma go with Blur and J_Ray because I felt like they had way better creative punches and attacks. Umair was repetetive when he said "me and my boy MrJ" three times throughout the battle.

MrJ this looks good on paper, but I don't think the words you use really fit in rap battles really. Idk if it's just your style but I never liked when you used these type of rhymes because it doesn't really pack any punch to me.

I felt both the teams got a little too gimicky for my taste with the whole links thing.

I got MrJ and Umair on this. Although J_ray and Blur have improved alot, I felt that what they put together still wasn't strong enough to beat MrJ and Umair. Umair's lines were a bit off of flow, and some of his punches were weak, but he's getting better and he's using more mature lines. MrJ's punches were hard, and his wordplay was terrific. Great job.

I'm gonna have to go with Umair and "my boy" MrJ. Umair was at the same skill level as he was the last time we faced, but he's using bigger stuff even though his flow wasn't the best. MrJ was fantastic as always and the whole ... thing was very creative. J_Ray and Blur were good also, but MrJ was too much.

I vote for J_Ray and Blur.

With 2 person battles, you like to see people mix it up and be creative, but both teams posted relatively standard verses. That meant the content and flow were the difference. The dropoff between MrJ and Umair was way bigger than that between Blur and J_Ray. Ultimately, I thought they had fewer fillers and did a nice job of mixing rebuttals with new insults.

Wtf? I didn't even think about me losing to Umair when I voted. I'm not bias. That is the one thing I am not. I may be cocky or rude at times, but I am not bias. Besides I lost to Umair 1 on 1. If you lose to Umair it would be 2 on 2 so it wont really count.

The thing I don't get is that you say Umair sucked but then voted for them when it's suppose to be a team battle, your suppose to compliment your partner. Then to top it off, you have the scores and they we're tied when combined. It's ok you voted for them but get a better explanation next time

I'm goin with Blur and J_Ray. They seemed to just mesh better than MrJ and Umair. Blur and J_Ray seemed to be more creative with their lines so that gave them a slight edge.
