Re: Cliff Harris stopped for driving 118 mph with suspended license

I guess someone is gonna have to get a loan.

Or just agree to fumble a couple of punt returns.

Re: Cliff Harris stopped for driving 118 mph with suspended license

that's 2 defensive starters suspended for the LSU game. not good for UO

Or just agree to fumble a couple of punt returns.

Or knock over a couple of liquor stores or 7/11's. With the moral standards of the team sinking so low, it wouldn't surprise me.

Re: Cliff Harris stopped for driving 118 mph with suspended license

Rumor is that the OSP dashcam video of the Cliff Harris traffic stop will be released soon and Duck fans wont be happy with who else was in the car with him.

Who is rumored?

Who is the source?

Re: Cliff Harris stopped for driving 118 mph with suspended license

Cliff apparently needs maturity. I'm glad he got suspended. There is no reason for a probe, it's all straightforward - and my understanding is the NCAA is content with how the school handled this. He'll be missed, but Oregon is deep with experience and Jefferson is not an accurate passer.

Re: Cliff Harris stopped for driving 118 mph with suspended license

It was Ken Simonton!

Re: Cliff Harris stopped for driving 118 mph with suspended license

My guess is that Crapzano will be talking about it today?

Canzano is just going off about this. Questioning if Darron Thomas can be the leader of the Ducks.

it might have been a blessing in disguise for me in Hood River and 95.5 going to AM so I cant hear them unless I go to great lengths lol

PS hope you are ok with me just changing the name of the thread title Sly.

and yes.. yes he can. I could think of a lot worse a kid can be doing, than being in a car when the driver is being an idiot.

Bastard!

j/k. I was coming in here to start an entirely new thread about this because I was too lazy to look for the old one and edit it like you did. I guess that's why you're the sheriff of the Duck forum and I'm just your deputy.

Give me some rep for giving you Duck fans a heads up about this! :devilwink:

This is the 3rd time Harris has been a passenger in the car when weed was found. Guilty by association?!?!?

The Ducks not making it public that Thomas was also in the car when this all went down looks real bad IMO.

Harris is a jive without a doubt. I think his talents are overrated. As an Oregon fan, I wouldnt be as disappointed as most if Chip set an example and kicked his ass off the team.

Repped!

Classy team these Ducks!

I'd rather see a story about how these guys got busted, rather than a story about how Cliff Harris and Darron Thomas were killed in a car crash from going 118 mph on the freeway.

I repped you in the Beavers forum.. where is my rep! :p

As to them not making it public, I have no problem with it. Could be poor judgement, but also cant say I havent gotten in a car with someone who turned out to be a total idiot driving. No problem with them not making it public, cause it didnt affect anything for me. Just my opinion though

My order of concerns:

1. was the car legally rented in terms of how the NCAA views this as a potential benefit
2. Cliff driving 118 even though it was 4:30 in the morning and the road was undoubtedly pretty wide open
3. Cliff driving with a suspended license
4. some dude not on the team was smoking pot in the back seat
5. Darron Thomas in the passenger seat apparently not smoking pot. I wouldn't care that much if he were really but pretty clearly he's on tape telling the officer he wasn't smoking and Kelly seems unconcerned about his behavior. I don't know about all of you, but if I'm in the passenger seat riding down from Portland in the wee hours I'm probably asleep. I would really care if Cliff had been impaired, but he was obviously fine which is why he was allowed to continue.

basically after reason #1 I'm pretty unconcerned about this stuff. Pretty minor on the list of transgressions by college athletes.

STOMP

I agree with pretty much all of this except nobody's falling asleep in the passenger seat when a car's going 118 mph.

I think it's likely that they were all smoking weed. They just happened to get lucky by being stopped by some star-struck troopers.
