We’re staying a week in Palm Springs the first week in April.? Anything fun to do?
we got almost 140k in Alaska airlines points. Hopefully there’s no caveats in that
Pools, golf, restaurants, Indian casinos (which have a lot of concerts) and shopping. It's a resort town. El Paseo in Rancho Mirage is also good for shopping and dining. There's a huge outlet mall in Cabazon which is 20 min away. Date shakes are pretty popular too.
Palm Springs is a lot of gay men. Palm desert, Rancho Mirage and Indian Wells is a lot of retirees, golf courses and resorts.
The aerial tram may still have some snow. I was in Indian Wells on Monday, quick day trip to hang at the pool. It was nice. I used ResortPass to buy a daypass at the pool, which was Vegas-esque.
Lots of mid century modern designs, probably some tours.
Just make sure it's not a coachella weekend, otherwise it may be all fucked up.
There is also some huge gay week or weekend around that time called the white party or something. I think it takes over a ton of pools and hotels and the streets.
The Parker is a cool hotel to check out, although I don't think they let the public go in the garden and pool area anymore. It's really awesome (super expensive to stay there).
There is an Elmer's Pancake House as well as Dutch Brothers.
If you run out of things, I heard the Salton Sea is interesting as is "salvation mountain". I've never been to either personally but they are in the area.
