Here are some highlights from the Original Poster

In watching the Ducks hurry up and snap the ball as soon as humanly possible, I couldn't help but think that the strategy is predicated on the opponent not being ready to play. Now I am not a sore loser, we are Trojans and we win or lose with class. But you can't pitch a ball before the batter is ready, you can't serve in tennis trying to get your opponent in an unprepared second of time. In basketball after a dead ball the defense is allowed time to set up. The Oregon offense looks like a circus to me, with signs that say glycerine on them. Excuse my French, but what the fuk is that?? A defense must be given time to set up to defend. If the NCAA doesn't put a stop to this, at least 10 more teams will be doing this crap next year. You can't let this go on and fundamentally change the game of football forever. For starters, the signs with the Burger King mascot have to be ruled illegal. You shouldn't be able to use any props. They are gaining a material and significant advantage over other teams by resorting to these tactics that rely on their opponent not being ready to play. Kudos to Chip Kelly for his revolutionary offensive tactics that are currently within the rules, but the rules need to be changed before all of college football becomes a circus.

This is beyond a hurry up offense. They are purposely attempting to run plays when the defense isn't ready. That doesn't seem right. The physical signs are an embarrassment to the sport. You should be made to signal the play in or bring the play in with a player substitution.

The basis of sport, any sport, is fair competition, in which you go against each other when you are both ready. Oregon has somehow found a way to play within the official rules, but have soiled sportsmanship in the process.

Every forum has a buffoon and he gets that prize. I like how all the other posters knock his post down. He didn't get a single agreeable post.

Entertaining, indeed.

How does Oregon get away with this "crap"? As the poster said, the rules must be changed. Kinda like the rules should have been changed back in 1908 to ban the devilish forward pass. coo-coo

This one's really good:

You are like the idiot who doesn't like the fact that your kid earned a C in school while someone else's kid earned an A. So you demand that the entire class be dumbed-down so that your kid doesn't look so stupid. Why can't we all be winners? How dare Oregon work harder, condition better, be more creative, and win this way.

Here's a thought: get your kid up to speed and stop whining about how hard the class is.

Two indisputable facts:

1. You don't know jack about football.
2. Chip Kelly is a very good coach and until teams bring their level of conditioning and play up to his, they will continue to win --- fair and square.

The funny part about it... how is it any "worse" than teams slowing it down to the last second every play to try and keep the ball out of the Duck's Offense's hands?

Its like reverse of what the Ducks do.

The one thing that actually wouldn't surprise me, but sadden me because I think it's fun, is oulawing the pictures. For example, if the NCAA has a contract with McDonalds and the BK King shows up all over the tv set, someone might get their panties in a bunch.

If the game is on FOX, but the ESPN guys show up all over the tv, someone else might get upset.

That would be the only thing I can think of.

One more thing. I agree that at some point fairly soon, defenses will catch on to this. It will be interesting to see if Kelley will be able to adjust

If anything, it's the opposing teams that are cheating by faking injuries. I didn't get that impression from USC because they only had like one injury, McDonald, and he hobbled off the field quickly under his own power. I respect that. They obviously have too much pride to fake injuries to win the game.

read this in a sig on there

If UCLA is running the "pistol" offense, is Oregon running the "machine gun"?--LA Times Letter

Wow, I'm guessing that was the first football game that guy has ever watched. Scratch that. I'm guessing that was the first sporting event that guy has ever seen.
