No, but that doesn't mean we should trade him for Jermaine O'Neil who has lost way more than a step. Some of you guys don't understand how hard it is to do some of the stuff Vince does. Like I'm 6'4 32"vert and I can just dunk. I can't do any tricks or anything. Vince is like 6'6 and his vert is still incredable considering he did a 360 on an injured ankle and he bearly even tried. Give him time.. he'll be back..</div>
more time will make him older, those legs weaker...

man, watching vince in the dunk contest, what used to be...

i dont get it, why cant he get off the floor like he used to?! watchin that dunk contest reply of him was amazin, and now he barely dunks! if im not mistaken jordan could still get off the floor at the age of 30

I still think maybe next year or a two or three years down the line, Vince will go back in the dunk contest much like Dr. J did in 84, to show the kids he still has it.

Same here. Oh well.

Resting his ankle. After all, he is "injured".

I hope that if Vince is traded that we and all the rest of the nets fans don't just hate him. He has for the most part played really well here and not missed much time at all playing through injuries. I think he has probably enjoyed his time here and if he leaves he'll leave with nothing but fond memories.

he's not a star, stars are guys like LBJ, Wade, Kobe, duncan, KG, Melo, Bosh...when there teams are down, you can always rely on these guys to come through, with vince, you never know what youre going to get. one night he'll be spectacular and have you thinking, "ok, maybe he's ready now", the next night he'll throw up a 5-16 game and be abysmal. no one can deny that except the vince carter homers who keep finding excuses for this guy

right now, wince is a highly priced role player

to bad no team wants that star

Was a star. Is a star somewhat. Will not be a star (that doesn't mean he's not a good player, mind you)

How come he wasn't voted into the All-Star game? How come the coaches didn't get him in?

How come Shaq wasn't voted in. How come T-Mac wasn't? How come Baron Davis wasn't in the game? Are these players not stars? Vince Carter is and always will be a star in the NBA. He will go down in history as the greatest dunker of all time and one of the greats of his generation. Anyone who believes otherwise is in denial. The question now becomes, is Carter at age 31, USEFUL to the Nets organization right now. Not whether or not he is a star.

Because Shaq and Tmac sucked this year and/or were injured, and there were waaay too many guards in the West. I mean, you've got Kobe, Paul, Nash, and Allen Iverson.

And for some reason, coaches felt the need to add in Roy instead of Davis. Maybe it was because the way the Warriors started out the season (without Stephen Jackson)?

IMO Carter's "star" is dimming, and anyone that can't see that is in denial. He's definitely not the player he used to be.

VC was never a star, because he's always "injured".

Courtesy of The Joker.

Shaq is not the player he used to be. Is his star dimming? Vince has been injured as well this year. That's the bottom line. When people think NBA they think Shaq, when they think high flying dunking guards they think wade, carter, T-Mac. This is a senseless discussion because it is subjective.

It's plain and simple:

Vince is a star, when he wants to be.

Or as Joker said, he's got star talent, with the mindset of a role player.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (hustler @ Feb 18 2008, 11:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>No it's half man, half a season.</div>

sorry that belongs to T-MAC

This isn't how a star acts like!

Vince Carter shouldn't even be in the NBA, infact with his great acting skills the man could easily get onto a Broadway musical!

^^^ nice 1st post..

anyways

yes, i think he is. he didnt score over 15,000 pts and is the #4 active scorer in the NBA because he has no heart and no passion for the game.

he has a lot, and i mean a lot of haters. his blessing of being a genuinely nice guy is also his burden for having people continually scrutinize his every step.

with age, its a given that you lose your explosiveness. nobody can debate that. but he still is, for me, a very very exciting player who brings a unique flare to the game and is a joy to watch.
