Was a star. Is a star somewhat. Will not be a star (that doesn't mean he's not a good player, mind you)
How come he wasn't voted into the All-Star game? How come the coaches didn't get him in?
</div>
How come Shaq wasn't voted in. How come T-Mac wasn't? How come Baron Davis wasn't in the game? Are these players not stars? Vince Carter is and always will be a star in the NBA. He will go down in history as the greatest dunker of all time and one of the greats of his generation. Anyone who believes otherwise is in denial. The question now becomes, is Carter at age 31, USEFUL to the Nets organization right now. Not whether or not he is a star.
</div>
Because Shaq and Tmac sucked this year and/or were injured, and there were waaay too many guards in the West. I mean, you've got Kobe, Paul, Nash, and Allen Iverson.
And for some reason, coaches felt the need to add in Roy instead of Davis. Maybe it was because the way the Warriors started out the season (without Stephen Jackson)?
IMO Carter's "star" is dimming, and anyone that can't see that is in denial. He's definitely not the player he used to be.

Shaq is not the player he used to be. Is his star dimming? Vince has been injured as well this year. That's the bottom line. When people think NBA they think Shaq, when they think high flying dunking guards they think wade, carter, T-Mac. This is a senseless discussion because it is subjective.
