Remove Strenuus mod access?

Just because somebody has some negative feedback for you doesn't mean you need to ignore them.

I don't have anybody on ignore. But if somebody was constantly coming after me personally I would use the ignore function.

I haven't seen Stren do anything close to that egregious to anybody.

It's not negative feedback, it's constantly being a condescending know it all asshole that states garbage opinions as indisputable facts.

And I get that's your opinion, and you are certainly welcome to that opinion. But I just don't understand why that's a problem since you know to expect that kind of post from him.

As far as I can tell he doesn't abuse his mod powers and the other mods seem to appreciate him in the mod capacity.

I'd rather have a mod like that than somebody who's super polite in their posts but abuses or neglects their mod responsibilities.

And I'd rather not eliminate a capable mod thereby putting more of a burden on the other mods.

Further, I wouldn't enjoy this place as much if mods weren't free to speak their minds. Regardless of if I agree with them or consider their point to be flawed, or if I didn't like their delivery.

I appreciate all of the different styles and perspectives in this forum. That's just my take.

I don't think anybody is speaking to what he does as a moderator. And obviously, we all know nothing of what that entails. And what he does or doesn't do on that end. Nobody is saying he abuses mod powers. Mods can have opinions. And act as normal posters. But when a normal poster is a negative ass ALL the time, you can put them on ignore if you like. And that isn't the case here. But so be it. Stren gets to be an arrogant prick and tell everyone they're wrong and stupid because he's a mod.

The fact that all the mods tend to support him leads to me to believe they aren't disappointed with the way he handles his responsibilities.

Just an assumption on my part.

Again, it's not about his moderating duties and whatever he does on that end. As for posting, the mods also supported a long list of since banned posters for working right upside the rules
 
First they came for Stren. And no one spoke up because they weren't Stren. Then they came for King Speed. And no one spoke up because no one listens to King Speed. Then they came for UCD. And no one spoke up because UCD was a horse's ass. Pretty soon everyone disappeared because there was no one to disagree with, therefore there were no more conversations to be had because everyone agreed on everything.....and Stren was no longer around to provoke a discussion. Sounds boring AF to me........

I have no problem with Strenuus expressing opinions. I have a problem with him laughing at me, calling my ideas stupid, and telling me what to do. Those kinds of inflammatory remarks are the opposite of moderating.

The whole point of a moderator is to make sure the discussion is respectful. So he’s not a good poster or moderator.
 
Folks, we all have off days. Nobody knows what anyone is going through unless you are involved in the intimate details of their lives. I know I've gotten upset and said things here I regretted during arguments. We are all human. (Except that one catfish that one time way back when). Strenuus apologized. Ive met him in person and he was nice. He has attended many forum events. I've also met KS in person and he was nice too. I even met HCP and he was nice too (that's the most shocking one amiright?).

The only person that is a butthole 100% of the time is @SlyPokerDog.
 
On another note, I remember when people were begging for dj Rudy c to be banned. Half the stuff he said back then is par for the course now on how a lot of people feel about the team. Crazy how perspectives change over time.

I actually came over here to s2 before all of you. I was close with Cpawfan once upon a time who posted on bbb.net until he came over here with Denny, speeds, and a bunch of others.

I liked this forum more, just wish the other teams grew their fan bases too. We had a pretty popular Nets forum here once upon a time.

Weren't you a hoopshype guy?
 
back in the day there was a Blazer newsgroup on Usenet. No moderation at all so it was a wild west. Can't remember the newsgroup name other than Blazers being in it
