you'd kind of expect a 4-year NCAA player to be solid, and maybe more NBA-ready

his numbers in college are really quite impressive:

what's most impressive, for me at least, is that his numbers got better, sometimes significantly better, each season. That was especially true for his rebounding and defensive metrics

now I'm not ready to peg him as a starter because I've seen 4 year NCAA players bust out of the NBA who had good progressions in their stats in college. But those numbers do strongly suggest high BBIQ and work habits

by the way, his senior season he was 1st team All-A10, AND, 1st team All A10-Defense

he was also named to the A10 Tournament team and led the conference in rebounding

He did show strong BBIQ and effort during summer league.

I am hoping anyone breaks out from the pack, but it seems Camara might have IT, whatever that is.

Totally.

Everyone should remember that Jalen Williams was projected to go in the 2nd round and played his way into the mid first with solid performances in the Combine.

I think Camara is going to surprise people. I like Walker and Knox as energy guys but not big minute guys.

I also think Murray is a player that will excel playing with better players who are able draw defenses and kick to him for open shots.

As confused as we were when Watford got waived, I’m glad it happened. I would much rather see our other young forwards get an opportunity to show what they can do than give rotation minutes to Watford.

yeah I think wayyyy too much was made of watford. even if you like watford, the things he was great at—we didn't need.

I watched the Comara SL vids. Solid but nothing to write home about. He's also 23 and doesn't have amazing athleticism or physical attributes. I look forward to watching him on the Remix.

That does not bode well since he looks more athletic and bigger than the other 3 listed in this thread. I am hoping for a Jarred Vanderbilt type of player ...but with a better shot

All the praise Camara is getting is making me hopeful that the FO will not see any reason to keep Knox around.
Is the praise from interviews? I haven't followed the media closely, I've been mad busy.

I don't see any purpose in worrying about having 4 guys compete for rotation minutes. I think it's a great problem. We have depth at every position and looks like we're going to have a kick ass bench for the first time in ages. Knox and Murray are going to be way better than folks think. I think Rupert is going to be a quick study. For the first time we're going to have really talented guys who are third string towel wavers! Will be able to keep them breaking a sweat now that we can shuffle them across town to the G league team as needed.

I like Camara, Murray and Walker for different reasons.

I'd probably give Murray and Toumani the edge early. Higher on their ability to guard down the lineup and get through screens playing in less switchy lineups.

Rob and DA are bound to get knicked up though so I think all we get an opportunity. Hell, I'd like to see all 3 out there together at the 3/4/5.

Knox is a distant fourth for me. Clearly the worst rebounder and defender of the group and the team is the least invested in him.

Interviews and media reports. Coach Billups has mentioned him a couple times. As has been stated a few times...people repeatedly say that he just knows how to play the game. Nothing flashy, nothing special, just solid and consistent.

Would be pleasantly surprised. I think if he does pop, he could be closer to a Kuzma kinda player. Or maybe a Grant Williams type.

Don't see the kinda lateral quickness to be the defender Vanderbilt is.

Think Rupes will be better than all of these guys in a few yrs.

Shot better than Kuz in college on similar volume.

TC: 30 mins, 13.9pts, 8.6rebs, 1.7asts. 55%FG, 36% 3pt (2.4 att), 67% FT. 2.1 TO, 25 PER on 61% TS.

Kuz: 31 mins, 16.4pts, 9.3rebs, 2.4asts. 50%FG, 32% 3pt (2.9 att), 67%FT. 2.1TO, 25 PER on 57% TS.

Works for me. Sounds like you won't be seeing him play much for the Remix. I just don't see an issue with his lateral quickness.....especially if he plays the 4.
And at 220 he is better built than any of our other young forwards. I would question Murray's lateral quickness before I would Camara.

Dont understand why you pulled the per 100 possesions stats, is this a better way at looking at a college player?

You could say the exact same thing about Kris Murray, for what it's worth. I think Camara is a better athlete than both Murray and Walker.
