Oops, I looked at the last 2 columns quickly, thinking tax and apron. I definitely wouldn't go in to the tax for him either. Toss in low salaries to cover that.

I'd rather go for Aldama or Jovic than Kuminga. Both would fit well into a Grant open spot, or off the bench and are the exact type of player we are looking for. Not flashy, but solid team first guys.

I would doubt that Grant has any positive value as long as he's missing games because of some vague Achilles problem. After the last couple of seasons that's a pretty toxic word in the NBA

Portland is flying under the radar as a team in serious need of a point guard: The Trail Blazers are suffering from a dearth of playmaking talent with Lillard out for the season, Jrue Holiday out since mid-November, Shaedon Sharpe still suffering growing pains and 21-year-old Scoot Henderson both unproven at the NBA level and absent because of a hamstring injury with no clear timetable for a return. Entering Monday night, Deni Avdija was the only Blazer with at least 100 assists this season.

Young would provide an immediate boost to the Trail Blazers' 24th-ranked offense, and at least in theory, Portland has the perimeter and interior defenders to cover for him on the defensive end -- even if that formula hasn't panned out in Atlanta.

Grant, out since mid-December because of Achilles tendinitis, would improve Atlanta's forward rotation. The veteran forward is averaging 20 points on 60% true shooting as part of a solid bounce-back season. The one complication is Grant's salary, which is smaller than Young's but extends for an extra year: Grant is owed $34.2 million in 2026-27 with a $36.4 million player option for 2027-28. -- Kram

I'd do the deal, get out of the last year of Grant's contract. I think we could flip one of our guards easier in the summer than Grant.

Though it would be funny to have all of Dame, Jrue, Scoot, Trae on the roster next year.

If we ended up trading for Trae or any other PG on the market I doubt we’d keep all of our other PG. Scoot or Jrue or both would likely be moved in other deals.

I mean thats what I thought when we had Brogdon, Scoot, Ant and Sharpe but we kept them all the whole year. They all played a total of 1 healthy game together out of 82.

I'd happily take him over Grant but I wouldn't give up a FRP or anything for him.

In theory Herb Jones would make more sense on a contender than the Pelicans lottery team. But they traded away an unprotected pick for Derrick Queen so I have no idea what that front office is thinking.

I'd sort of think Trae would garner at least 1 FRP but he's a crappy defensive ball chucking guard - guys like Simons/Clarkson/Sexton/etc have shown how that type of player is worth nearly nothing. Who knows.

Well sure but why would SAS? Fox is part of an impressive core that has been dominant when briefly healthy. None of the spare part we have are close.
