Aminu had 7 PTS on 3-9 shooting (1-3 from 3) and a game high 15 Rebs .

Here is the complete box score.

Also the game is currently being replayed on NBAtv for those with access to it.

We need to come up with a nickname for Aminu. A name that cool allows for all sorts of rhyming possibilities!

We need somebody to be grinder. I love players that get their weight low and grab the rock. If he can develop a 3 point shot and stick out the elbows, we might have a winner.

That 15 rebounds is what really impresses me. It leads me to believe the kid likes putting a hard hat on.
don't read too much into any boxscore stats. mutombo and hakeem both played minutes in the first half for team Africa. even a
'dream shake" made basket for the highlight reel. mutombo is 52 and hakeem close to 50. Popovich called a timeout so everyone could watch a few teens break dancing with nba mascots

Regardless, he is an above average rebounder for a SF in the NBA. Those stats confirm on his PER 36 stat

yes, and I like his acquisition and his contract and his recent development as a player for the blazers. I dig on your enthusiasm too. just that the first half of team Africa's game was more of a celebrity game and for show was my only point

He's draymond green light but I fear his best position is smallball 4. Not sure he's a long term starter at the 3.

Ideally he would come off the bench at post positions. But he is still young and if he continues to improve his game .......maybe he can be a legit starter on a good team. I am just not sure how his handles are.

He's gotta get on the court and do something to earn it. Have you ever heard of a nickname that sticks which isn't earned.

He shall henceforth be named "Ebola" for his ability to steal the life of the other team

I saw a little bit of the game, they played Aminu at Guard alot, even having him on the other team's PG. He is somewhere between a 2 and a 3 who plays strong, defends smart and rebounds very well. On offense I've seen him mostly take 3s but maybe it was too small a sample size.
I thought he was an interesting talent, still would like to see him play a more versatile offensive game. He's a pesky defender, though, and a very good rebounder especially on the defensive end.

Watched the game, Aminu looked good. But this game was mostly glorified rat ball until the end there when CP decided he wanted to win the game, so not too much to take away from it.

Nic and Giannis were Africa's guards. Not very conducive to a stable offense. Nic especially looked even more lackadaisical than usual (if that's possible).

I really want Bradley Beal on our team someway, somehow.

Any chance Aminu morphs into a playmaker like Batum? Batum never averaged more than 1.5 assists before being put in Stotts's offense.

What does Beal do well besides shoot the 3 ball? I am not disagreeing I just have not seen him play much. 3 years in the league and he has yet to shoot 44% from the floor. How does he defend?

And isn't he always injured?

Good defender and is getting better. Has performed very well in the playoffs. Has a decent handle and can score off the dribble. And he's got a knock down 3pt shot already. Biggest appeal for me is that he's 21 , and his skills set can go with Dame's perfectly . He's a young vet with room to grow. Wouldn't surprise me if he got the max next summer.

But ya, he has injury issues that are worrisome.

Yeah, it's a shame that his health is such a concern. Otherwise I think he's the closest thing the NBA has to a potential star SG. Again, it's just a sad statement about the lack of talent at that position.

Aminu wasn't over paid on his contract when he got the minutes he produce as a player. Last 3 playoff game he had a double double that show me he produce very well in game that really counted and expect him be close to be double double guy for us through out the year.
