PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS
NBA executives are split on whether the Blazers will move Damian Lillard, who remains involved in everything the Blazers’ front office is doing right now. The team genuinely wants to add ready-made talent. The Blazers have had talks with the Pelicans about Zion Williamson, which has been widely reported at this point. I’ve also heard that they inquired with the Wizards about Bradley Beal, though he only wanted to go to Phoenix. If Lillard is dealt, the Heat and Nets are on his short list. But if this pick is moved, it’s more likely it’ll be something involving Henderson since he’s the prospect teams are offering proven players to move up for.

2 surprises:

We sniffed around on Beal.

People are not offering much for Miller.

Worried what happens if Scoot goes 2...

If Adebayo ultimately marks someone on the Blazers’ wishlist and nothing more, at least Portland’s pursuit of the two-time All-Star reveals the type of talent it will take for this front office to part with the third selection. The Blazers have been linked by league personnel to both Raptors forwards Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby, but Portland doesn’t truly covet either Toronto player for the No. 3 selection, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Zach LaVine, the Bulls All-Star guard who flirted with Portland as he reached unrestricted free agency last June, also does not appear to be a legitimate target for the Blazers. For all the speculation about Minnesota sharpshooter Karl-Anthony Towns, there has been no apparent interest from either the Wolves or Blazers, sources said, on deal frameworks surrounding Towns for the third pick. Portland, sources said, is targeting forwards with size at the top echelon of the league’s player hierarchy — someone like Adebayo or Clippers All-Star Paul George.

Miller has been considered the favorite of the Hornets’ front office, sources told Yahoo Sports, and Charlotte appears headed toward selecting Miller after San Antonio crowns Victor Wembanyama as the No. 1 pick Thursday.

PLEASE TAKE MILLER

We know wings win, so instead of building on that, Portland adding a C that got abused in the playoffs

HIT THE FUCKING RESET BUTTON

Two players I absolutely don't want coming to Portland: Zion and Ayton. This team needs a lot more toughness, not less.

EXCUSE ME?

Lol you want our guy who isn't on the table? Well we want your guy who isn't on the table. This is stupid.

But the key takeaway from that piece is our supposed disintrest in either Pascal and/or OG for #3.

Also Fischer name dropped Paul George. This is the first time I've heard us linked to PG, even if not directly. You best believe Fischer threw his name in there on purpose.

Clippers would be stupid not to take Simons/3 for PG, but I think they're destined to run that team back until PG and Kawhi are done.

Simons + 3 for George would not be an intelligent move on our part.

Just a reminder, the Raptors finished 10th in the East last year. Are you sure you want to give up a potential generational talent with pick #3 for them? And look at Raptors roster, way better depth, talent, and balance than Blazers would have.
And the Blazers finished 13th. Does that mean no one should want Dame?

Boy are you in for a ride.

People really don’t want to hear about how wings are what win championships.

They got to the finals with him as the anchor of their defense. He is the sole reason why their zone was so effective. Not sure how you got "abused" from that.

Yeah he carried them on his back. Only 'abuse' I saw was from shoulda been 3x MVP Jokic.

LOL! Nice job by Cronin putting Miami on notice about messing with Dame.

Actually, this is a nice way of telling Miami, you are maxed out with a team that went far, but you are not going over the hump with a team that has Bam and Jimmy Buckets. Honestly, do we believe that team would have gone over a healthy Bucks team? (I don't). Maybe they make Riley think - is Scoot (if he is there), the next Wade like cornerstone?

I loved everything that Miami has done, but without another real shot creator and size, I do not think they would have gone over any of the last 4 or 5 championship teams. So, realistically, even a Dame trade for Duncan Robinson and poo-poo platter is not enough, imho (simply because of how much they need to give up).

I think Miami is not giving up Bam, but maybe, if Miami's next season is not going well and all of a sudden Jimmy looks bad or is hurt, they rethink it.

I prefer Siakam + OG. Or Siakam + 14

You're not getting both Siakam + OG. Siakam + 14 maybe?? But it's Masai we're talking about here.

I don't even know how we salary match Siakam + OG.

For a 33-yo with a PO after next season who's averaged 47 games played over the past 4 seasons? That may be the worst suggestion yet.
There are a handful of possible trades that would make me find a new team to be a fan (not really, but you get the point) and this is one of them.

Stay away from Kawhi, PG and Zion.
