Watching Locked on Hornets and all 3 are super devastated at the latest reporting with taking Miller over Scoot...

I think people forget how good Durant was in his only year in college. Shot better % than Miller on both twos and threes. 3 more rebounds per game. three more free throw attempts per game. Double amount of steals and blocks than Miller.
Hard to forget how good Durant was in college.

The fact Oden was drafted over him was fucking insane.

"But he can't bench 135".

im really excited to see how we fuck this up

were used to making franchise altering wrong moves, this could be another one (probably not to the same extent, but still)

I want Zion and Jaxon Hayes, is he still on their team? I mean fuck it, roll the dice. Maybe Zion gets his shit together. Must be tough hearing fat jokes from the entire country.

Apparently Woj said that he thinks Brooklyn is going to keep it together for when the next all-star asks out.

That's what he said on the ESPN2 Mock Draft show.

It has to be exhausting for him to carry water for so many people.

Chris Haynes was just on local radio and said…

Zion is available
Pelicans want scoot
Scoot wants to be in New Orleans

get it done

I agree, the Pelicans should definitely make a deal with Charlotte to ensure they get Scoot. I want nothing to do with Greg Oden v2.

No doubt Zion is very talented when available but he makes Anthony Davis look like the Iron Man.

Serious money owed, serious time in street clothes. Not exactly how I'd want to spend money on improving the team, paying for some very expensive street clothes.

Question: During the draft. When the 5 minute timer starts, are teams using phones ONLY to discuss trades? Multiple phones maybe in which GM, Assistants, other take calls simultaneously? That seems like a mess, but one phone only (GM) may be a bit limiting esp if multiple teams try to make offers.

Or is there an computer software teams use to make trade offers, one which allows a team to see what every other teams are offering simultaneously in real time, which is more time efficient.

well good thing it isn’t your money

That makes the most sense. They got 47 wins in spite of (a) changing coaches, and (b) trading two future hall of famers, and (c) getting jack squat out of Simmons.

They don't have all their own picks due to previous trades, so they don't have any reason to do anything other than add incrementally and wait for a big-time player to come on the market. I don't know if they pursed Beal and/or if he would have wanted to go there, but a Beal/Dame-level player makes much more sense for them than trading their good players for future/younger pieces. (Unlike the Blazers, who were worse last year than the Nets and do have all their upcoming picks of consequence so losing has an upside.)

Yeah probably. Not alone in my opinion though.

The latest reports leading up to Thursday’s NBA Draft have the New Orleans Pelicans shopping “superstar” Zion Williamson for the second pick in the draft, and not finding a willing trade partner in the Charlotte Hornets. It hard to say what’s worse: the fact that the Pelicans are throwing in the towel on Zion, or that the Hornets aren’t interested. Either way, it tells you all you need to know about Zion’s future in the league.

Doug Gottlieb: “What does it say about Zion (Williamson)...that the New Orleans Pelicans, who feel like they’re close to being relevant in the playoffs, are like, ‘Yeah, we’ll trade you for a prospect.’? If that doesn’t tell you how he’s truly viewed, nothing will.”
