Yeah probably. Not alone in my opinion though.

yeah I get that…but this is the swing you take. Potential MVP caliber talent…if it doesn’t work then it doesn’t work.
Zion fits both timelines…if it does work…shaedon and Zion for the future sounds real nice

This should probably be a new thread, but I'm curious what people value more: #3 pick or Sharpe?

I think sharpe would have gone higher than Scoot or Miller in this draft so sharpe.
I don't know if I feel confident in that. Obviously now with a year of experience, yes.

Last years draft was certainly weaker and he went 7th.

He hadn’t played a minute of college. It had been a year since he played. I’m going off what we know now and if he had stayed at Kentucky. I think he’s a better prospect than either of those players.

Could be.

The elephant in the room is why are the Pelicans and their fans are so ready to give up Zion for #3? He’s a hot potato that no PR team would want to handle and he may face some challenges when his his sex tape drops. Plus me makes megastar money but plays as much as Oden did with us .

Also, the league is salivating over Scoot or Miller. We hold the cards here. Dame has went public with the fact he wants to stay in Portland, but he needs to be part of any recruitment process of a vet. Bron will fly to see someone he wants to get. I remember when CP3 and Blake Griffin locked Deandre Jordan in a house to force him to re-sign with the Clippers. I realize it’s not his job to do this, but I feel Dame needs to take over the vet recruiting and lead Cronin in the effort. Dame is a cornerstone for the Portland and the Blazers. He needs to make a Big 3 happen just as much as Cronin does.

Did you just use Zion and elephant in the same sentence

Worst case scenario: pump him full of Toradol and force him to play. Can’t see why that wouldn’t work?

Zion doesn't fix our defensive issues at all and... he's never healthy.

Reminds me of a baseball player that'll either hit a homerun or strikeout and gets paid like Mike Trout

That makes the most sense. They got 47 wins in spite of (a) changing coaches, and (b) trading two future hall of famers, and (c) getting jack squat out of Simmons.

They don't have all their own picks due to previous trades, so they don't have any reason to do anything other than add incrementally and wait for a big-time player to come on the market. I don't know if they pursed Beal and/or if he would have wanted to go there, but a Beal/Dame-level player makes much more sense for them than trading their good players for future/younger pieces. (Unlike the Blazers, who were worse last year than the Nets and do have all their upcoming picks of consequence so losing has an upside.)
Most of those 47 wins were with KD/Kyrie. And they got a lot out of Simmons during the 18-2 stretch when everyone was cookin. That team could’ve won the title but Kyrie had to fuck it up.
