We need more than 2 rebounds from our power forward!

I should have worded it differently. His per minute rebounds. My bad.

wooo lawdy, that 5 boards Amare got...wow.

You need more than 0 rebounds each from Joel and Oden.

Looking at the box score of last night's game, their bigs killed you.

Exactly. Our team Relies on our Big's. Last night the Ref's screwed over Camby and we had no replacement. The lack of a center screws the entire flow of our playing style.

Honestly, I don't know why this is even a debate. LMA has his virtues, but not even his own mother would claim he is more than mediocre as a rebounder. There are 3 basic ways to address this.

A) Cling to the notion that Oden is going to be the second coming of Wilt, and that a finese PF is OK.

B) Give up and trade LMA as part of a package for an upgrade. (Bosh?)

C) Find a backup PF who is bigger than Dante and/or more talented than Pendergraph. Somebody who can contrast the finese game with a little old fasion brutality.

I'd say "C" is the most realistic. Take advantage of what LMA does well, and find him a back-up who covers for his shortcoming.

Aldridge is soft. It doesn't mean he's incapable of being a good player, but he relies on finesse and his jumper... that means fewer rebounds and it means fewer free throw attempts.

I'd rather have a good player who's soft than a bad player who's hard-nosed, but... he's soft.

Ed O.

At least you're putting Soft and Hard on a perpendicular axis from Good and Bad. It seems like too many people here are simply using Soft as a synonym for Bad.

In no way, shape, or form was that post you referenced to said anything about LaMarcus getting any tips rebound against the Suns last night. The post was written by BlazerCaravan, and it says, "Also, Marcus has been teaching LMA how to tip offensive rebounds. I LOVE OUR SENIOR CITIZENS!" You also should note that that post was posted on April 24th, two days before the game against the Suns last night.

Here's a recap:

- Chuck Taylor basically posted that LaMarcus had a terrible rebounding performance (with only 2 rebounds) in his original post.

- You responded with the implication that you did not think so, and vaguely suggested that LaMarcus had multiple tips rebounds to his teammates that wasn't credited to him.

- Myself and a few posters posted that tips rebound is indeed credited to the player that tips the ball to his teammates.

- You refute this claim by myself and the other posters, and asked for a legit source to back up this claim.

- None was given so far, but myself and another poster said that Mike Barrett had said that the "tippers" get credits for the rebound (though I'll readily admit that Barrett is no "legit" source).

- Chuck Taylor said that he did not remember LaMarcus had any tips rebound (against the Suns last night).

- In a later post, Chuck Taylor asked you for accounts of LaMarcus' tips rebounds against the Suns game last night.

- You did not provide an account for LaMarcus' tips rebound, but only said that another poster in the Game Thread had supposedly observed the same thing you observed (that LaMarcus had multiple tips rebounds against the Suns last night).

- Chuck Taylor later called you out for being unable to provide an account for your claim (that LaMarcus had multiple tips rebounds against the Suns last night).

- You (smugly) said that you had cited other posters had observed the same thing you observed (that LaMarcus had multiple tips rebounds against the Suns last night), and that all Chuck Taylor had to do was refer to the Game Thread that you referenced.

- I later posted that no poster in the Game Thread had said anything close to what you claimed he/she said.

- You admitted that you were mistaken, and said that the post you meant to reference to was in another thread. You provided the link to that referenced post.

- Amusingly enough, the post that you later said you had meant to reference to was posted two days before the game against the Suns last night. Not to mention the post in no way said anything about LaMarcus getting tips rebounds in any particular game. The post was only a speculation about Camby "has been teaching LMA how to tip offensive rebounds."

I would suggest you drop the smug act and the condescending tone before you reply to posters, especially when it's obvious your claim can easily be proven to be false.

My post was definitely in reference to Game 4, and my experience of having watched it. LMA had a few good tipped rebounds (probably why he got 11 that afternoon). Just so you know.

Hmm, Kevin Love probably could be had for the right price.

He managed to grab 11 RPG in 28 MPG.

What part of "my bad" doesn't compute for you? I would suggest that your reading comprehension sucks ass. And lol at you talking about being condescending and smug...

The real worry about Love is that he's not particularly mobile and he'd get eaten alive with all of the idiotic switches we pull on defense plus he'd give up inches which would make it tougher for him to guard long 4s and 5s, but every other part of his game would be sweet: he's a great passer, plays his ass off, has decent range on his shot and vacuums up boards.

Do you not know how hilarious you've been in this thread, STOMPY boy? LOL!
if you're still laughing then you still aren't following along. Continuing to think you're on to something and trying for digs is just you being a piss poor reader.

I said "my bad" because I'd read that thread at halftime of game 5 (as I said). I confused it with the game thread which I also gave a look to at halftime of game 5. When I posted "my bad" I was fully aware of the date on that post and that I'd confused the two in my reference... hence "my bad" and an explanation of what happened when I asserted that the comment was in the game thread and referring to game 5 when quite clearly it wasn't.

Having admitted I was wrong, I thought those that I'd disagreed with would move along but you've had two more rounds of asserting how wrong I am and laughing uncontrollably by yourself... which is good for a laugh as well. Thanks for that :)

You told the OP that you saw a poster (in a later post, it wasn’t just one poster, it was posters) had observed the same thing that you had observed. You referenced that post to the Game Thread. I later told you that I did not find any poster in the Game Thread that said what you claimed he/she said. Right after I told you that, this is your explanation for it: “I found the post I was referring to and it wasn't in the game thread... my bad! I must have just read it at half time or something… post #18 in this thread.”

You’re not going to worm yourself out of this, STOMPY boy. Your explanation in that quote clearly just acknowledged that you were mistaken WHERE (in which thread) the referenced post was, not that you were mistaken that any poster had actually said what you claimed he/she had said.

Now, your post that I’m replying here makes a better explanation of how you’d like to worm yourself out. But don’t blame my reading comprehension for your inept writing of the English language. English is not even my first language (and really, not my second, either), but I feel ashamed for all of your English teachers.

This is what you're actually good at. When you can't debate a point (even after you've used up all your lies to defend your argument), you lashes out and go for the personal insults. I knew this before I engaged you in this thread. Normally, I try to stay away from the pissing contests and the e-dramas, but your smugness amuses me.

You're acting like a dickhole. Just drop it already.

I know I am. The saying is true, arguing with an idiot makes you one too (something like that). But this is the first time (well, I've said "fuck you" to him once) I've acted this way towards him, whereas he never shies away from making digs at me. In any case, it's dropped.

Jesus, nobody cares. Move it into private messages; you guys can argue over personal stuff all you like there and nobody will be the wiser

I said it's dropped. Got it, dude. :)

See, this is what you do: you drop things. This is ridiculous! You can't just drop an issue after we've outed you as a dickhole! Quit trying to drop what we've told you to drop until we've decided you should actually drop it which may or may not be when we first told you to drop it! So don't drop it already!

:D
