Well I do like Gomes. He seemed to always kill us. I will miss Martel. Babbitt looks great

I don't like this trade at all. Webster did well off of the bench, and filled in fairly well in the starting lineup while Batum was out. I don't see Babbit having that kind of ability, but maybe he will be more consistent. Hopefully Gomes can fill in at back-up PF. Whatever. This draft started off poorly for me with the effed-up timing of the KP firing, and I like Webster, so I'm just being a bit pessimistic.

And that, right there, is why KP was canned. Either that or dumping Sergio. You can't recover from such screw-ups.

Gomes has a partially gauranteed contract. That could be HUGE in a trade for CP3!

Roy entered the NBA draft straight out of high school but decided to withdraw. He wasn't a late bloomer.

He was 21 when we acquired him, but he had four years of college experience under his belt.

WAIT just one gol' derned second. This is a 1-for-2 deal. I thought we were supposed to be consolidating talent, not diversifying. Don't we already have too many players? How are we going to find minutes for all these players? WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?!

Babbit is one hell of a rebounder also for an unathletic sf

I was just going off of what i recalled from draftexpress, but I just reread it and it said "Despite his lack of tremendous athleticism" so that does not mean that he is unathletic, just that he is not a freak athlete.

Of course, not.

I Babbit's and Gomes' dreams, they can't give us anywhere near the production that Webster would have given us in 2010-11.

So, this is clearly for the future.

Batum was getting his minutes no matter what (unless he gets injured). Martell was going to sit anyway (15 minutes max per game, with many games that he doesn't get in). Webster's stock would go down from this point forward, so now was the time to trade him. What they did was max out Martell's value by making this trade.

Babbit should become a good player in the NBA because he can shoot, rebound, and he has size and strength. But, he looks very uneducated, which will keep him on the bench under Nate McMillan. You can't get on the floor, if you don't know where you're supposed to be (unless you're oozing talent like Travis Outlaw).
