Any recos? I gotta start the process to find one.

I'm thinking of getting a simple platinum ring.

Probably gonna look around. Are the designer names worth it (Tiffany, Cartier, etc) or should I just go with some smaller name who specializes in wedding bands?

What do y'all have or your experiences with them?
That all depends on what your fiancé is getting. Has he decided what he’s doing?

Our wedding colors were gray and red (I'm a WSU grad but she picked the colors) and so I got a dark gray ring with a simple and small red stripe around the middle. Most probably think I'm a firefighter or something with it but I love it. Simple, not flashy but has some meaning to it. We ordered it online and it was around $200.

A 24 carat gold band is nice but somewhat soft so you need an amalgam for the clasp and the prongs.
When I bought my wife's 1.6 carat diamond, I did some research.
I like the round brilliant.
You want your diamond well proportioned.
I'd also go for the clarity and color to be what is the minimum that collectors go for. I got a VVSI, very very slight imperfection, which is one step below flawless. If I remember right there is a big step in the cost between a VVSI and a flawless.
Next go for the color. Colors are graded in letters of the alphabet. I believe I got a color 'G' although a color 'E' is highly desired.
Go to the internet and look up the features and proportions and learn what the best proportions are for all the features such as the table, culet, crown, pavilion.
Here's a start:

For a man's ring a simple 24 carat gold band looks best to me.

Already copped the engagement ring. Did a lab grown diamond from James Allen.

1.34 carats, VS1, E color, round, ideal cut.

Got platinum with micropave diamonds on the band. Gabriel & Co from LaRog jewelers. She's going to get a matching platinum band with micropave diamonds all around.

Platinum is less maintenence and less reactive I think.

Gold is only affected by aqua regia acid.

Go to the Gold and Silver Pawn shop in Vegas and talk to my boy Chumlee..have him hook you up with a Super Bowl ring that some broke ex-NFL player pawned

Actually drove by there an hour ago

Went to Margolis for mine. Her ring has a pattern and mine is similiar. Cannot remember any other place having anything other than slight variations of a regular mens band.

Also went with Platinum.

Will likely end up getting a Cartier Love Ring.

Been trying some on. I actually like the pattern on this, but I also like a very simple ring too, but fiancee thought it was too boring. Cartier is almost 4x the price though, but she's buying I guess so YOLO. I may still go with the cheaper option, who knows.

This is what I liked, which is just very plain and simple:

I'll prob get a cheaper ring for travel so I don't get jacked for whatever main ring I get. 6mm seems to be a nice width on the ring overall.
