Stotts can finally give Dame some rest now. I bet Lillard's efficiency is gonna improve.

Yep. And this is the real and best reason to have made this trade.

No reason he couldn't have rested him more already.

At least Maynor has the knee excuse, Nolan on the other hand ...

I'm not trying to imply that Nolan is a better NBA player overall. I am just saying adding Maynor right now shouldn't be the deciding factor in giving Dame a rest because he hasn't been any better than Nolan this season

Maynor is coming back from an injury...Nolan's got no excuse, other than he sucks...

Since Maynor just got out of his knee brace a few weeks ago his production the rest of the season would be expected to increase from his production back in Nov-Dec. Nolan on the other hand....

Fair enough. On the plus side, there's almost no chance that Maynor significantly alters our short-term tanking prospects. Full steam ahead!

Nolan has had a PER over 20 this month.

Eric Maynor is the perfect player for Nolan Smith to model his game after IMO, very similar attributes.

An intriguing quote from the Oklahoman Newspaper:

Maynor, meanwhile, is perhaps the best backup point guard in the league. Though he sustained a season-ending knee injury early in the year, Maynor’s floor-general skills are recognized throughout the league as being elite.

Hey Guys, did not get to watch the game last night, how did Maynor look?

For his first game I thought he looked fine. Rushed a couple shots, Im not sure if thats him or the situation. But the good was that the offense didnt fall apart when he came in and Lillard sat. It was almost odd to see compared to what we are used to. I like the way he can penetrate as well. Should be a good back up going forward.

He's probably already our best entry passer. Hit LA right where he wanted it a few times. A lot of times our guards throw such poor passes to him that he has to come out all the way to the 3pt line to get it. Seems like EM doesn't have that problem

You nailed it. The offense didn't lag the moment lillard left the court. Also, there is a confidence that maynor has on the floor. He isn't afraid to take a shot, and he actually seemed to be really effective when lillard was on the floor with him.

I think we have our bupgotf

OKC picked up a decrepit Derek Fisher to replace Maynor. Speaking of which, how slimy is Derek Fisher? He left an up and coming UTA team a few years ago to join the Lakers again because of his daughter's health. Ok fine, that's a legit excuse, maybe. But he did it again this year. Was with a struggling DAL team and used his injury as an excuse to get waived by Cuban. Then all of a sudden, he pops back up when a top seeded OKC team comes calling.

Why couldn't he have stuck with DAL? They had to pick up Mike James for god's sake. Even at this stage in his career, he's better than James.

solid, just like Stotts described. Nothing outstanding, just really solid.

you can say that again. From a pure PG standpoint he looks better than anyone we got, Dame can learn lots from him.

Yeah I think maynor is a better mentor for lillard than rice. Lol

Did anyone else notice Maynard defense? I saw him able to keep the quicker guard in front of him and less layup drills when he was on the floor.

that would be a good sign considering the ACL surgery he had

just having solid offensive flow compared to what Price and Nolan bring is a godsend

As others already posted, there wasn't a drop when lillard left the court. I mean don't get me wrong, he ain't no Ricky Rubio! Hahaha. He just seems like a glue guy type player. One that won't be a liability when our star leaves the court.

Obviously there will be a learning curve while getting to know his new teammate's tendencies.
There were times last night where he was expecting them to go one way and ....they didn't. Time/ familiarity will cure that.

I did notice that he seemed more focused on getting the ball down low than any of our PG's since Miller. He is not afraid to force it in. Which I love. A pet peeve of mine the last two years has been the lack of quick passes down low to open players. This not a knock on only our PG's, our bigs also need to be better at delivering the ball to a cutter.

Anyway Maynor seems to be better adept at making those passes. Can't wait to see more of he and Lillard on the court at the same time. Curious to see if it can work from a defensive stand point. I am certain it can offensively.

He used his daughter as a bullshit excuse to screw Utah and go back to the Lakers, pure and simple. How slimey is he? More slimey than Canzano. Piss and purple slimey.

I'll chime in and agree with what's already been said: He ran the team well and played like a competent backup, he just pressed on a few shots. He'll settle in.
