I like what I seen on video especially on offense he is type fits Stotts offense. Defense good lateral movement and he long enough when gets beat he still can get there to block the shot. Zach does a good job of that when he gets beat he don't give up on the play and get behind type of block. But we will never know until he gets a chance to play. Maybe Sunday game due he has more practice in.

My guess is Biggie is getting minutes because he’s familiar with the system. Gabriel should get his shot eventually, pretty much everyone does under Stotts. It just always seems to take longer than it should. The idea of a Gabriel, Collins, Nurkic front line is intriguing. The way I look at it is if Harkless could play SF in Stotts’ system, so could Gabriel.

That's the thing. His in-game adjustments are so infrequent that it catches everyone completely off-guard. No one is prepared for it. The downside is he has to play the normal style at least 78 games per year.

seems maybe he is ambidextrous. clips posted here and videos on the gleague site show many blocks, dribble drives, dishes and dunks utilizing his left and right as well as shooting right handed jumpers.

he’s honestly the best basketball player I’ve ever seen.

but yeah, he seems comfortable with his left hand. Also, reading up on him, it seems Sacramento was utilizing him as a small forward in preseason, so the idea isn’t as crazy that he’d be developed as one in Portland. Seems like play strength has been a question mark with him, and having him play the three would help mitigate that. Of course so would hitting the weights, but he seems a hard worker and evidently put on weight over the summer.
 
Whatever defensive ability Gabriel has:

A: Stotts will train right out of him
B: Stotts will coach him up even further
C: 'Defense?'
 
Our 15th different starter this season... Who's going to be the 16th?

What quality young player did Stotts never play who ended up being some major contributor elsewhere?
 
Mr. Gabriel had a nice Christening in my book. He certainly gave it his all, was in the middle of a lot of hustle plays, and did better against the Unibrow than I could have hope .

Now back to the GLeague with him!

J/K I hope he's with the team for the rest of the season.

The real issue is that our benches have always sucked but he still plays the shittiest of the shitty bench players we have. At least play the less shittier of the bunch.

That was the only person over 8 seasons that I thought could even be a possible answer. I'm assuming you could find 1 player over a 8 year span of any coach that could've warranted more playing time. I'm guessing Stotts has a much better track record of taking under utilized young talent from other teams (Nurk, Harkless, Skal, etc) and making them productive than the other way around. That's a boring narrative though.

Why did Sacto have Wenyen in the G-League?

I think he’ll learn more from limited minutes in the NBA, and practicing against Melo than he ever would in the G-League.
 
He's better than Hezonja (not a high bar to pass) Need to calm down on the fouls even though I thought he got some BS ones called on him

Lolol why does sac do anything they do? Why did they trade Skal for Biggie? Why did they sign Ariza?
