So i'm gonna go ahead and say what i think should be the starters and the rotation. Disclaimer!!!! I am not an NBA coach. I probably don't know shit!

I was watching and thinking the Blazers have a couple problems with the starting unit against GS. I think it's Kanter and Aminu on the floor together.
I'm thinking it might be worth a try to play bigger with Kanter and Collins on the floor to start.
Then start using Meyers with Aminu with the second unit.
Staying bigger and making Kerr have to play Loony and Bogut/Jerebko.
Counter the small ball with big balls.... So to speak.
Yes i understand they will have some ball handling advantage. But the Blazers might be able to set better screens for Dame and keep a big out to force Curry to shoot contested threes instead of wide open ones?
Also maybe get a few lob passes to bigger guys at the rim? Layman might be an adjustment also?
The point is to make them play bigger. Slows the game down a bit? Plays into the Blazers hands?

Not a bad idea, but we have to do something about guarding screens. At this point, I think you go with a Hood / Harkless / Collins frontcourt (CJ on Iggy, Hood on Green, Harkless on Klay, and Collins on their C). Then you blitz / trap on screens and try to force turnovers (which GS is somewhat prone to) and then get out and run in transition to get easy looks.

Damn. I get what some of you are saying but fuck..have you not been watching ball long enough to know its a 7 game series? The level of panic at this point is amusing. We played like shit and were still in the game with 6 minutes left..
Playing like shit in a winnable game agains GSW in the WCF is not excusable.

Agreed.
But experience tells me the real headline here is ya played like shit (against the champs) and the game was still winnable.
We'll see in G2. Like I said - Terry and Dame better come correct. Because this was ripe for the taking and we GAVE it away.

Dame had a bad game, but at least there is the sense that he knows it and feels some responsibility.

Stotts coached a bad game and sounded like he either accepts no responsibility at all or just doesn't see that there is a problem.

GREAT comparison. Dame owns it. Stotts gets snarky and almost goes Russell Westbrook with the reporter.

I think we can win this series if we switch on pick and rolls. I think we can get this next game on the road if Dame and CJ show their best.

Well that was a yucky game. Only joy I can get from that is the fact that so far we are 0-3 on the first game on the road and 2-0 so far on the second game. So there is still hope to steal one. But man if we don't it'll get ugly fast.

Just keep in mind, we could win by 1 point 4 times, and lose by 25 3 times and we'd still go to the finals. Stay calm and beat Golden St.

Have not been a fan of small ball all year. You have to counter the opponent not match. Unfortunately despite the often positive results it's not on Terry's cards.

What some are not looking at here is that GSW is the number offense by percentage in just about every offensive category going against a Portland defense that's rated 12th in the playoffs.

That is a defense then that is 12th out of 16 playing against the 2 worst 3-pt shooting teams in the Playoffs in OKC an DEN. That is not encouraging when then going up against GS.

I could totally handle the guys being tired and worn down and simply just not being able to handle the energy.

That's not what happened though. Having the big stand 10 feet away from a pick and roll is not on the players. This is a coaching strategy. Even the freaking announcers said in the 1st half you can't play that way and something has to change.

I'm so fucking sick of asking the question why if at least 30 posters in here know how obvious this is and the announcers are befuddled at the lack of adjustments plus the opposing teams are clowning how easy it was to get shots, how can our own fucking coach not see this or do anything about it?

Oh right, we aren't in the practices or the locker room so we're all wrong and Stotts is a genius!

Yeah it’s the coaching! Curry and Klay never play like this against anyone else! We make them look like HOF and annual all stars. What a disgrace
So you're advocating that the defensive game plan to give two of the greatest shooters of all-time open looks all night was a good strategy?

Maybe go one less defender and sag back everyone. Take the strategy to the next level!!
