We do run people off screens.. Dame and CJ just aren't as good at is as Curry and Thompson. They are both better at getting open and at shooting quickly after catching the ball. Dame looks afraid to shoot.

This series will be over in 5. The DUBS are just as good on the road as they are at home.
 
Does any member of the soft Portland media have the stones to ask Stotts why he would design a defense to REPEATEDLY give Curry/Thompson wide open looks. Anyone? Jaynes? Richman? Holdahl? And then follow up his weak-ass response?

Maybe so - but tonight he was throwing passes that you would expect from some clueless rookie in his first play-off game. 7 turnovers? Jump passes that would give a high school coach a stroke?

We don’t have the shooters they do? How? Without KD they have a Max if 2 shooters on the floor nearly all 48 minutes.

Do you consider Iguodala and draymond shooters? Because they aren’t.

That Cook/Livingston/Klay/Jerebko/Bell lineup played the first 6 minutes of the 2nd and the first 6 minutes of the 4th together. That unit outscored us both quarters. That is an absolutely dreadful lineup with NO spacing.

Golden State does NOT have better shooters than we do. That’s such a lame excuse. Yeah they have two of the greatest but Dame and CJ aren’t slouches. Our starting lineups essentially have the same amount of shooters (2) and we bring a stretch 4 and 2 solid shooters in Hood and Curry off the bench. What Golden State DOES have that we don’t have is competent coaching and game planning. They guarded our stars the way stars should be guarded, and they ran offense with actual movement.

Your team looks underwhelming as fuck right now. We couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and we stayed in the game until the 4th. That's pathetic.

The problem is we play this conservative defense all year with no variation in schemes. Then in the playoffs none of the players are prepared to try anything different.
 
Well, The story of the Blazers this year has been resilience. This was about as bad as they could play, I dont think GS played particularly well either. The difference was defense they played some and the Blazers didnt.

Its one game, lets see what the Blazers have for game 2. If they cant adjust their defense, if they cant get back on defense, then yeah maybe they get swept, but lets see what they look like Thursday.
 
Stotts a complete embarrassment. Sagging the big while your guard gets screened all night. Inability to adjust to the same shitty defensive game plan he started with. The key to slowing golden state is trapping and forcing green to be a scorer to beat you or switching everything and getting up in them to make them take 2s.
 
So they win a game seven in Denver on Sunday go straight to Oakland and set up to play another game a day and a half later and they come out and play poorly.
Kind of figured they would need to decompress a bit. They will go back to their rooms and relax. They will watch film tomorrow. They will adjust and they will come out and play a tough game two on Thursday.
Have some faith Blazer fans.

Iggy literally just shot 48% from 3 in the series against Houston lol

Draymond has hit plenty 3s his career, Cook and Jerebko’s only asset is shooting. The only pure shooters we have are Dame/CJ/Curry, Hood isn’t a spot up guy and obviously prefers to score off the dribble.

Toronto has trouble scoring outside Kawhi and Milwaukee defense is setup to give open threes. I think the east will be much tougher than us tonight but I could easily see the warriors beating them without Durant. They are 28-1 with Curry and no Durant.

Just shows how stupid it was to have Durant go to this team, they are a title favorites without him.

Fuck Durant I hope he goes to NY and enjoys the success LeBron found in LA.

Steph made 7 uncontested 3s tonight. How Steph Curry is getting more than maybe a couple uncontested looks all night is absolutely beyond me.

Just cause it is Golden State doesn’t mean we should not be disgusted. That was just an absolutely dreadful performance. Horrible game plan.

Denver was much more prepared after their Game 7 and won game 1. I can't believe 90 minute flight makes that much difference. Our game plan was brutal and we got blown out.
 
I also think that the DUBS are a more "rested" team. The Blazers have fought tooth and nail through 2 series and I truly doubt that they can win this one on the road again. Not to mention with the Denver series overtime debacle, they've not really had any rest mentally. They've played 2 teams that move the ball slowly, and are now playing a team that's chucking the ball around and kicking in fast breaks. Can they adjust? We'll see.

I know everybody despises him but Jaynes asked Stotts during a practice why he kept on starting Harkless and Aminu during the Nuggets series and even said the 'Insanity' definition and Terry actually argued the meaning of the very definition.

It was a radio segment. I think it was Chad Doing's show after Game 5.

Should I have posted this is the 'I hate Terry Stotts' thread?
