dude, what the fuck
I'm f'ing with you, chill dog.

People are getting a little too serious in here is all.

That doesn't give you the right to violate the rules you are supposed to enforce. I don't care what he did. It reflects badly on this site when the mods think they are above the rules. That kind of behavior ruined the last forum we frequented. It's totally uncalled for and unnecessary. Other than publicly venting , I don't see what you hope to accomplish.

He doesn't speak for the site, especially in this case. He does a really good job with the Lakers forum, where he should be posting.

I've watched him and DennisRodman go at it for the past few weeks, over Carter vs. Kobe and they both get a little passionate or heated over it.

It's obviously childish and poor behavior to gloat about something like this. That is our official position.

Please allow us to deal with it as best we can.

In the mean time, I regret we lost a very good poster who's smart and who contributed throughout the site.

You're being vague, what happened at your other board? Don't equate me with some trashy mod over there, I respect everyone here who wants to be here.

Some guy who told me through PM to suck this and that, and that he was going to go out with a bang. I could care less about his feelings.

Refresh my memory, in what way is this similar?

It's EXACTLY the same reason I left BBF. A member got banned and the mods who banned him proceeded to call him names and bait other posters.

The responsibility of a moderator is to bring a community together, not tear it apart. You need to exercise better judgment. Your attacks on him were very immature and accomplished nothing positive.

I never made a personal attack against him, he has three times already. He doesn't understand the rules, I have (until now apparently). If an ex-member is not a "public figure" as you put it, then that surprises me.

That isn't specific at all, what caused this member to get banned?

Private messages are supposed to be private. The fact that you are discussing the contents of private messages in public is another lapse of judgment on your part.

I don't care if he is banned. Any PMs he sent you before than ban should remain PRIVATE.

He violated a forum rule.

Why does it matter why he was banned? NOTHING should give you the right to violate the forum rules you are supposed to enforce. As a moderator, you are expected to enforce the rules, not violate them.

BNM

It honestly doesn't matter about the details. Lets just let this cool down and figure this out rationally.

Huh? Is this from that "tampon joke"? Seriously?!?!?! I say fuck, shit and asshole all the time. I think that's a little "On edge" than talking about a freaken tampon. When I saw I was able to type Shit, I almost shit my pants and became a fan.

I say relax about the mods, even the ones that have elephantiasis.

Oh and making a PM public is our right to do. Someone tells you something in private, then it becomes your property. It's your choice to make it public. Then that person that PMs you, will choose next time to not tell you again. Weird!

Is a Commish basically the jester?
Never. The internet is serious business. The role of the internet forum volunteer is one of high moral authority and not something to be taken lightly, lest we all suffer.

Thank you.

Excuse me Boob but the rules are not always clear, I know because I have been a mod here a lot longer than you.

Then you should know personal attacks aren't allowed.

If you don't agree with what someone posts. Attack the post, not the person. It's really pretty simple.

I don't see anything ambiguous here. Denny Crane deleted your posts and called your behavior childish. Seems pretty clear cut to me.

BNM

See I look at rules as more of a "blue print" and fall back for the mods to use when certain assholes show themselves. For the most part, I've seen warnings first and usually the post removes. As for tampons... Hey let your little one walk right next to the baby isle and see that word postered all on the shelves. If you can see it in Safeway, Albertsons or Ralphs, then WTF?!?!?! Is it really that offensive?
