We don't even agree on language though. The word racist doesn't mean the same to Dviss as it does me. The words whitesplain and mansplain are used all the time. That would be the source of my combativeness.

I also remember the different rules created for different subjects. Rape is rape but killing a trans woman is apparently worse than a guy killing his cis girlfriend in a domestic dispute.

If I say that raping a passed out drunk woman isn't as bad as grabbing a girl jogging in a park and attacking her I'm "parsing" rape.


Raping an unconscious woman is still a disgusting vile act that deserves prison, that doesn't mean something can't be worse.

But some people seem to have a set of ground rules they expect me to adhere to and I won't so it seems to me that they get angry about it.

You talking to me? The reason that I'm not likely to really participate in these discussions fully is because there are too many people that need to participate for anything we agree on to have any real impact.

On a personal level I try to treat everyone I meet the same way. I don't have any power over anyone.

In the grand scheme, if I'm in a room with one hundred random people I will ultimately decide that 70 of them are stupid. In politics that number would stay at least that high.

If I were to get involved with politics on even a local level after working 50-60 hours every week of my life I wouldn't have a life.

To me, there are a different set of rules for rich people in this country. It doesn't matter if you're black or white or blue. The most important color is green. If you're rich, the rules do not apply to you.

And even more sad, the gap is growing and growing. The rich keep getting richer, and the rest of us keep getting poorer. This is only going to get worse.

You’re the one getting heated, I was just replying to the thread you created and if you don’t like that then don’t post. You know posting this is controversial yet you did it anyway and you’re surprised people have different opinions? I don’t get it. Have you seen the incarceration rates per state? Louisiana is like 700 plus people per 100,000 residents and Maine is about 100 or so. Cherry picking 4 examples from different states in a country of over 300 million people is stupid.

No, of course it isn't. There aren't any variables to account for with tobacco and cancer.

I've admitted here a million times that as a whole the nation discriminates against black people. I'm not going to accept every example you give as doctrine just because you say so.
