Bro... is there nothing fans can complain about?! So going down by 20 to teams less talented AND missing their star player game after game is not justification to be unhappy with the product??? Just keep our mouths shut and be happy?! You talk about the negativity in here... is it not justified? We are probably the most underachieving team in NBA...We'll win a championship and people on here will still find something to bitch about.
You thought this team would win 60 games? Fuck you talking about "less talented" teams? We are a .500 team.....right where we are supposed to be. I never said people can't complain or be unhappy. Thats not whats happening here on the daily.Bro... is there nothing fans can complain about?! Yes, because I believe they have the talent to win 60 games... they are just not playing the right way, hence my disappointment and negativity... I wasnt trying to insult you. Isn’t the forum a place to discuss good and bad? Since the play has been atrocious this year, what do you expect? You thought this team would win 60 games? I looked at the roster in camp and saw the moves our in division teams made and planned on us winning 40-42 games (and got blasted for this on here) Definitely NOT 50s or 60s territory. I also looked at my son and didn't assume he would make the NFL or NBA and have enjoyed every minute watching him grow up playing sports. #RealisticExpectaionsFAMSYes, because I believe they have the talent to win 60 games... they are just not playing the right way, hence my disappointment and negativity... I didn’t think it was unrealistic to expect them to win at the same percentage they did with Nurkic last season... Did you not take into consideration the other teams getting better and making moves and we didn't? Or that we caught other teams off guard adding Nurk and we hadn't been scouted properly yet? I can understand getting caught up in the Nurk fever though.I didn’t think it was unrealistic to expect them to win at the same percentage they did with Nurkic last season... Heck lets just go with robot players and throw away anything to do with Contracts and the CBA. Team with the best scientists and engineering wins.robotics replaces refs...coaches will challenge calls by pushing a button and will coach from a gaming console and have valet parking
I have been thinking exactly this all year.I think Milwaukee and Philadelphia may be on the bleeding edge of the next big trend with their insane length. Guys like Simmons, Middleton, Covington, Antetokoumpo, Embiid, Maker make it incredibly difficult on their opponents defensively, and most of those guys are very young and will only improve in their shot-blocking and passing-lane disruption. I could see a super-long team being precisely the antidote necessary to possibly overcome the pace-and-space trend.
I did account for those things... but those teams would have to incorporate new players while we would open the season with good chemistry was my assumption... combine that with the easiest schedule in NBA for first qtr of season... that’s where my expectations come from. I did have Nurk fever tho. Also, with me personally it’s not even about the win loss record... it’s more about how they play... and going down by 20 at some point in almost every game, even against shit teams, is unacceptable to me. I expect more as a fan.Did you not take into consideration the other teams getting better and making moves and we didn't? I (honest to God) expect that a 4 point line will be initiated sooner rather than later.......

Starting lineups with nobody shorter than 6'9. If PG goes to PHI, that could happen.Since Terry started coaching in 2012, Portland has been among the leaders in 3pt shot attempts and makes. The rules were making it tough to defend players and Stotts/Pop/et al realized the importance of the 3pt shot. In 2013, Wes, Dame, and Nic were all top 10 in threes made and attempted per game in the entire league. We were consistently going smaller and smaller with guys like Nic and Dorell Wright playing PF, with Dame sliding to SG, etc. Meyers Leonard was shooting threes, and we thought he was a unique piece in our roster and attack. We, along with the likes of GS/HOU were essentially revolutionizing the game.
Fast forward three years and now everyone is doing it. Pace is up, positionless, 3pt heavy basketball is in. Currently, there are 70 guys averaging at least 5 three point attempts per game. In 2014, there were 42. And the teams who were the trailblazers in playing this way like GS/HOU are now doing it better than anyone else, and have more talent than 95% of the league, while we are trending downward and our offense getting more and more stagnant.
So what's the next big trend in basketball after this three point revolution? If we want to stay ahead of the curve, is it best we develop our talents? Are big men and post play going to make a comeback? We won't be able to beat GS at their own game. And our talents are far inferior in pretty much every respect as is. I get the feeling that Neil gives very little thought to roster-building and style of play, but maybe I'm not as perceptive to what he's doing?

I would support this. Would create more spacing and would hypothetically create bigger passing lanes and would make passing and ball movement a bigger strength. Would probably reintroduce the low-post as a big part of the offense with more spacing as well as a lower efficiency of 3pt shots.I wrote a piece once about widening the floor 24 inches and lengthening the court 3-4 foot so they could move the 3 point line back. I think this would help a bit. As it stands now the corner three is tough to stay in bounds as it is. Then at the top you add 18 to 24 inches to the line. 12 at the corner.
It's a foot in the corner and an extra 6 inches at the top so it stays in accordance to what they have now. I really think the advantages of widening the court and moving the three point line far outweigh the disadvantages.I would support this. With that being said, I don't think the 3pt line should go back that far. Maybe a foot maximum.
Don't think they'll ever do this. Would eat into the leg room for the high rollers who sit courtside. Those are pretty much the only real profitable seats (along with suites) in every arena. It's a foot in the corner and an extra 6 inches at the top so it stays in accordance to what they have now. In that line of thinking another option was brought up. Totally different concept. Change the size of the ball and the game immediately changes also. Think about that one?????
Huh? Saric is not a PG.Big PG's.
This is the reason why Saric is my #1 trade target.
