Sometimes, a big loss can kill a team. When we were 45-11, on an eleven game win streak, and meeting a Lakers team with the same situation in 2000, we lost and then completely collapsed the rest of the season. This appears to be happening to the Celtics. They had a 19 game win streak and a Christmas rematch with the Lakers. Since losing that game, they have lost to the Golden State Warriors without Crawford, Ellis, or Maggette; the Portland Trail Blazers without Brandon Roy; the frickin KNICKS; and now they're in OVERTIME with the BOBCATS.

I smell an implosion.

It's a few games. Wait till the end of the season Eric.

I love it. Fuck Boston.

Even if Boston pulls this one out they still had to go to O.T. with the Bobcats.

Yea, but I have seen other great teams in the past have their losing streaks. Every team has at least one through out the year, at least. I remember when the Bulls came through the west after their breakout start with only a couple of losses, and then promptly dropped like 5 out of their next 7, which was most of their losses for that year.

The loss against the Warriors can be blamed on a huge drop in stress and pressure after the Lakers game, which may have caused the Celtics to relax a bit too much.

The Blazers are a good team without Roy.

The Knicks can beat ANY team ANY time in ANY arena when their shots are falling.

Boston aren't going anywhere.

Aren't? Were you learnt that in skool? :drumroll:

Bulls never lost 5 of 7 that year, It was more like 3 of 4. And it usually happened in Texas. Against good teams. The Celtics, however, are losing to lotto teams. Don't get me wrong. I actually love the Celtics and would love to see them whup the Lakers in the Finals if that's what it comes to (I'd rather see LeBron beat Kobe, but I'll take what I can get). I'm just calling it like it is. The Celtics are completely collapsing. People thought they might win 72 this season. Well, that's not gonna happen now. Not even close.

Looking at the box score, I see the Celtics have no bench. But why do I get this feeling they will sign a couple of cagey vets coming out of retirement right around playoff time . . .

Seems like the right time to sign Darius Miles after he's waived.

The Knicks, who just beat the Celtics, are now losing to the Thunder by double digits.

KG didn't get slapped or punched did he? That would be a nice touch on the loss for me.

Celtics are an average team that got off to a hot start on a favorable early season schedule.

Uh... that's how every English speaking country in the world other than the US would conjugate that...

Ed O.

BTW, anyone see Paul Pierce and DJ Augustine get into a shoving match at the end of the game? Garnett walks up and starts talking smack to Augustine and G. Wallace comes up and shoves Garnett who walks away like his usual coward self.

Ray Allen is over the hill and declining.

KG and Pierce are getting long in the tooth.

Their bench is vastly overrated.

The loss would be so much better if KG was punched, slapped, elbowed, anything of that sort.

KG did the smart thing, I wouldn't fuck with Crash.

We should pay Barkley to throw KG through a bar window.

Regulating both the forums AND the English language? Truely superior...

I say it was the loss to the Blazers, not the Lakers, that ruined Boston!

The Celtics will be there in the end. I think the start was too easy for them and they got a little bored, and lost some focus. But it's still enjoyable seeing them fall to crappy teams.

I don't think they will. They're an old team that has old starters playing way too many minutes. That team is tired and its showing. They aren't doing it again.

Is that what happened last year too?

Right, because getting a suspension is the obvious way to end a losing streak.

Houston is next up, I have no clue how this will turn out. One part of me thinks the team's slide will continue. The other part thinks that, because this is their first 'big game' since Christmas Day, they might get up for it and beat the Rockets. After that its Cleveland, I think we will beat them regardless of what happens tonight.

The Boston win had much more to do with the Celtics being ina funk than the Blazers being a good basketball team.

I think it's really important for the team to come out and punch Detroit in the mouth right off the bat tonight. Pound the ball inside to GO and LA, and have Bayless start and drive it down their throats.

damn all this down their throats pounding inside punching in the mouth business has me wanting to go out tonight.
