So a plan has been in place by Paul for a couple of years. His estate is worth 20 billion. Granted that is before estate taxes, but regardless one would hope that the plan calls for a reasonable sale price. One that a local group could afford. Getting rid of the last team in the NW would save the league money and scheduling hassles. As for the loyal fans - butts in the seats don't mean nearly as much to the league as potential TV ratings. As for the SacTown situation - if they had been anywhere except California, the league would have helped load the moving vans. If the league didn't want teams in BC or Washington, why would they want one here?

I'd argue that this actually makes Olshey very safe in the short term. They aren't going to change horses until the ownership is settled, which may take some time.

After a new owner is in place, then Olshey's prospects are probably very shaky.

Well, there is the agreement with the city that the franchise can't move till 2023. Don't know if it is unbreakable, but probably would require some effort/money.

The lease is up in 2025, but note that Allen owns the Moda Center as well as the Blazers. Have to believe they'll be sold as a package deal, because who would want to buy the Moda Center if the Blazers could be leaving?
