He claims that he said to Paul Allen in his job interview that he'd draft Lillard and Leonard, so no doubt he'd claim them as his. But I don't know what players for the Clippers he was responsible for. I want to say Bledsoe, which worked out fine. Bledsoe and Leonard fit the same mold: athletic and raw: all potential. Lillard, of course, doesn't fit that mold. But I wonder how much he is influenced by advanced stats, and if so, which ones. If it's true that Caldwell-Pope is his choice (and, while it's too soon to tell, I seem to remember most people being sure that the Blazers would take Lillard well before the draft) then that sounds like a Bledsoe/Leonard pick rather than a Lillard pick. Whereas I doubt there is an advanced stat (except maybe some kind of adjusted +/-) that measures the effect of a dominant defender like Dieng.

I asked Pritchard and he took credit.

I remember it was reported Olshey said he'd draft Lillard, and nobody near the organization has refuted that claim. The claim of the Leonard pick is news to me. Link?

I thought he sold PA on Lillard. I need a link for his claims of promising PA Leonard.

I agree, which makes it official. At his job interview off the coast of the Isle of Man or wherever, Olshey pushed Lillard but not Leonard.

Thanks! Of course, that doesn't tell us which players he pushed for or whether he overruled other forces in the front office or just did what the scouts said, but I guess we can't know that.

Hm. Aminu and Warren. Both gamble "possible high reward" picks that didn't pay off. But the good news is that he moves on quickly - he waived Warren (who was a second rounder, after all) and traded Aminu (in the CP3 trade).

I've yet to see him draft a "glue" type player or defensive ace.
