They shouldn't be winning. It doesn't make sense. This is awesome to see after all of the apparent chemistry troubles at the beginning of the year. Go Blazers!

Roy HAS to be player of the month for December. Or at least the week. He and the rest of the guys are putting in some real effort!

Kobe will win it. Don't know if he deserves it, considering the circumstances the Blazers have, but Kobe will win it.

I'm surprised Kobe won POtW last week. His stats were better, sure, but Roy went 3-0, and the team 4-0 (including 2 huge wins on the road, iirc, and a huge win at home).

btw, it looks as though things are back to normal in the state of Oregon Pac-10 wise..Oregon best WSU and UW on the road, and OSU lost to both.

We have TWO of the best teams in the league! It works out this year with the injuries, but when everybody is healthy who do you play?:dunno:

Don't we have to give SOME credit to the coaching? It seems that no matter who we throw out on the court, we win. That requires some organization at the top. Our staff has figured out which combinations to put out on the floor in really tough situations. I'm in awe.

Coaching staff definitely gets some credit. Things have somewhat been a little more simplified with the injuries, but they've done a great job preparing this team and not letting everyone get down on themselves or tank the season.

I see two things going on. Roy has been playing at a near MVP type level for the past month, and quite frankly I think guys are finally loose since they know there's no quick hook because there's no logjam of players waiting in line to get their minutes/touches.

No Roy though and no veteran help from Miller and Howard (whose contributions are more than just their numbers) and this is likely a downward spiral of epic proportions

I swear to god I wrote what I did above before reading Nate's quotes, but apparently he agrees with me:

“…I think early in the year, we were concerned about minutes and rotation and shot attempts and combinations. This team is just playing. They’re playing free and guys, whatever minutes they play with or get, they’re going out and making the most of it. We’re rotating them in and they’re executing down the stretch on both ends of the floor. I think you see a team now that’s free as far as their thinking and how they’re playing. They’ve been able to come up with some big wins.”

and

On Roy: “I thought it was great. This guy has stepped up… What he is doing for this team right now, by example, is MVP type of stuff. You talk about a player who’s most valuable for his team, what he’s doing – not only is he scoring, but he’s trusting his teammates. That’s big when you have young guys like Bayless and Martell. When they’re taking big shots, if they miss he’s telling them to continue to shoot. When the game is on the line, he’s stepping up and making the play.”

You can all call me a genius whenever you like

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Excellent. I look forward to it.

Nate quoted John Wooden tonight in the Post Game.

"It's amazing how much can be accomplished if no one cares who gets the credit"

We've played pretty well since Miller has started. Webster is playing pretty well. Players are getting use to the new players. Originally we had 3 new starters,,,,and people are surprise there were some problems getting every one's role down? Nothing about being greedy, just getting the team use to new players and new style to a degree. If no injuries we might even be playing better than we are now. Don't get me wrong, it's unbelievable how well we are playing considering all the injuries, but that doesn't mean we wouldn't be doing well right now if not for the injuries.
