I know right? At some point you'd think the guy wold just get a job instead of going all the way out there from Portland attacking people out in the country.

i mean the audacity!!! How dare he commit a crime in another neighborhood!!! Can you please keep a better handle on your criminals?

or ask your police force to do so?

So if Canby folk are hillbillies can i call portland folk bitter liberal losers?

asking for a friend…

It’s a good smaller university. Ask Larry Nance how he liked it! Josh Allen went there as well I believe, and handful of other pros.
She was raised here in the inner city, hates all things trump, doesn't like guns and wears a mask responsibly everywhere she goes. If she does end up going there, I hope they treat her well. Her and her team where in a restart in Nashville last week and they had people laughing pointing and harassing them because they walked into a restart wearing masks. Said it really upset some of her teammates. I know that has nothing to do with Wyoming, just frustrating is all when people try to do the right thing.

Doing a little research on it now. Their women's head soccer coach just texted my daughter this morning wanting her to come play there. Not on our radar, but worth the look.
You’ve obviously never been to Laramie…….Ask Larry Nance Jr. about it……..he gave me his take when I met him two years ago……..like Jonnyboy says, it’s a frickin’ wind tunnel.

I hear you. Nobody deserves that. Luckily you don’t see much of that around here. It may lean one way but it’s still a pretty mixed bag. Cowboys with hippie girlfriends. The pretend cowboys in Nashville must be projecting too hard if they are berating kids over masks.

Hey OB, I hear that Amazon is opening a huge new warehouse in Canby. Where is that going? Are the roads going to be able to handle all that truck traffic? Do you know if they are going to improve the Aurora exit from I-5?

And no, I'm not starting anything or trying to add to this weird Portland vs the rest of the area argument. Just saying Amazon can be a really shitty neighbor.

Lol. Do you live in Canby? No?, then why do you care???!!!??

sorry, had to. Lol.

Canby has its concerns and then i have my own concerns.
For Canby, its overall a good thing because of the jobs it will create.
Im on the opposite side of town from where its going up. Im down by the willamette river and its on the ne side on the other side of 99.

I dont know the specifics, but this is what i think will happen.
Because there is already a large amazon distribution center in wilsonville, i think they will realign the areas they cover. Wilsonville will handle the west side of the willamette, Canby the East side.
If this is true i think it will help avoid all the amazon vans hitting the highway or crossing over. They will use 99e to route out the distribution.

As far as semis delivering TO Amazon, not sure it will be noticeable? I dont see many in wilsonville even though i get stuck behind the slow driving vans all the time.. which brings me to my own concern.
These drivers( im sure are monitored very closely) drive 5-10 under the speed limit all the time. My morning commute i see trains of them and get stuck dealing with thier slow pace.

Canby will now likely join the van train and create traffic in the morning as the vans head out.

Its like they all leave at once and its much like a funeral procession. Ive been behind 15-20 vans all in a line before.

So though im not sure the highway entrance, exits will be an issue. The traffic in town will be.
Also. There is a second Canby on off ramp at charbourough. I much prefer that exit going by Langford Farms gold course.
However i take the ferry home these days so all the traffic can fuckoff! Ha!

Amazon temporarily rented a huge parking area at the old Xerox property by our neighborhood and kept over 100 delivery vans there. The main problem we had was them driving like madmen and women coming to, and leaving from work. Apparently they don’t want to be at work any longer than they have to be. They all drove like Dale Earnhardt and got surly if you told them to slow down. It’s amazing no pedestrians (and their dogs) weren’t hurt. Seriously. 40+ mph in a 15 mph speed zone is bullshit. Nor were they very good about keeping their parking areas clean and free of garbage. And their impact on local traffic in the mornings and evenings was an added “bonus”. Not surprisingly, Amazon wasn’t particularly responsive to our complaints. We’re extremely glad they finally moved elsewhere…..

you mean the employees driving to and from work. Not actually driving the amazon vans right?

i never see the vans going the speed limit.

Yeah, employees driving their POVs. Seemed like they needed a gun to their heads to get moving when they were driving the Amazon vans…….

The Tragedy of Portland: ‘It’s a Ghost Town, Except for Zombies’

In 2021, Portland was downgraded from third to 66th out of the 80 most desirable cities for prospective investors and developers — the direct result of the reputational damage that the city has suffered over the past year and a half. While the riots that rocked Stumptown in 2020 were mostly confined to a few blocks surrounding the Multnomah County Courthouse downtown, their consequences are felt across — and beyond — the city. Large-scale demonstrations began to peter out by the end of August, but only after months of breathless coverage in the national media and an untold amount of economic damage. (The first four weeks of rioting alone cost the city some $30 million.) At the same time, Portland’s partially defunded and thoroughly demoralized police force seems unable to prevent the vandalism and destruction that a smaller posse of determined Antifa-style anarchists have continued to carry out in the months since. The city is gripped by a sense of helplessness — as if disorder and breakdown are an inevitability.

It's just a marketing issue. Ghosts and zombies are actually quite popular, Portland could be a destination for this sort of thing. Portland's Halloween could be as big as Mardi Gras in NO.

barfo

i thought i recall hearing about a zombie apocalypse paint gun course out west near hillsboro somewhere?

Sounded fun but was too busy.

In the past 18 months, I've nearly been in collisions with Amazon vans on four separate occasions. All of the incidents were very clearly the Amazon drivers' faults. They are worse than Prius drivers.

100% agree.
I think though its becausw Amazon likely has monitors. Cameras, gfor e restrictions etc.

When i subcontracted for comcast, they put cams in the vehicles that would be set off if you take off too fast, stop too fast or corner too fast, all based on the g’s.

If they are told they will lose thier jobs if the camera goes off too often, i could see why they take extra precautions. But then Amazon meeds to know, these restrictions are creating traffic logjams preventing a smooth flow of distribution, commuter traffic and the like.

ive said it before and will say it again.
Fuck amazon and bezos….
