Who said everybody at the capital that day deserved to be punished?

Anybody who broke in or hurt anybody should definitely be punished.

I would add to that, that anyone who incited the riot ought to be punished. The law will say how much they get punished. Those who incited would include Trump, jr., Hawley and those in the crowd who yelled yes, break the windows or we have to get inside stuff like that even though they might have not entered the Capitol building. The guy carrying the zip ties ought to receive extra punishment. I'm not going to say what the punishment ought to be but I am saying that it ought to be more than the rioters who broke windows, spray painted and set fires that didn't endanger anyone because they couldn't endanger anyone. Should the city rioters be punished? Hell yes, but not as severely as those who broke into the capitol and encouraged the riot to the point that someone bludgeoned a police officer to death. The January 6th riot was serious enough to where one Secret Service agent fired at a perp, killing her. I have heard of no shots being fired by police at any rioters in the city riots which means they weren't deadly serious.
I need to get out of this before I get people angry with me which is the opposite of what I want. In short, I feel I'm now being counter productive.

So, what I'm learning is insurrection with intent to murder ("hang Mike Pence!"), intimidate law-makers and loot ("secure the electoral votes and evidence of wrong-doing!") is exactly equal with vandalism and arson.

The fact that one ended up in murder and the other didn't is just minor facts that had nothing to do with the actual actions, just luck of the draw.

I would go back to school and relearn how to learn. if thats how you learn then i feel for ya.
