Tents are all over LA, even in the nice neighborhoods now too. I don't think there are tents in Beverly Hills but the homeless are begging/buggin' out though. So much crime out there too, smash and grabs, carjackings, watch jackings, etc.

I mean living in LA was cool, but honestly after travelling a bit I would have much rather lived in San Diego for my 20s/30s. Or maybe Chicago.

The funny thing is, Portland had two reputations for a long time. One the one hand, Portland was lily white, quirky and forward thinking (I'm talking relatively recently, not like 50+ years ago when it was a polluting cess pool). On the other hand, Portland was "little Beruit" but hidden.

Now the part that was hidden is less hidden, and the half that never wanted to admit it was there, is pissed and over-reacting.
