I dont know about all of you but im tired of loosing and we keep doing this get them young and develop them well everytime we do they either trade them or they leave as a blazer fan i feel we r in a win now situation not win later im against all this young rebuild we need to start going after vets to pair with dame and win not develop players for other teams to win

I don't think Neil is done. I think Kaman is gone. The Kanter signing, to me, wasn't about targeting a big man specifically. Neil is in asset acquisition mode. He knows that we need another star player, and Kanter has the talent to step in and put up 20 and 10 from day one. He's not a project like Vonleh or Leonard. I think he's looking to add a #2 option to go with Lillard and I would highly doubt he cares about position (outside of point guard obviously).

I agree with this statement. I think we could possibly get this #2 by the end of summer.

I think there's a good chance we see Henderson/Kaman/"insert young guy" go out for someone who can be a legit second option. Won't be until August though.

I doubt it. Who's available?

I think now you go into waiting mode for news of somebody being disgruntled on some other team. I think it'll be pretty quiet from Summer League to training camp. But if we go into the season as is, points are going to have to be a product of a good team system, because we have basically two players who can create a shot.

I think that is what he's going to have mid season. Right now, I think he wants to find a legit 2nd option before the season starts. Or maybe a third option player. Someone like Ross would be a nice addition, but that's only if Toronto is up for the trade. We need players of that age and upside.

Ok so what Vets should we acquire using the assets we have?

If you look at Olshey's interview, he said he wanted Monroe with or without Aldridge. Then you see another swing and a miss for a post player (defense is optional). I think he's looking for a third option post player this summer and hope there is a damn good deal on a disgruntled player or team for the 2nd option.

What post players are left? I wish we could have had Milsap. I think he fits both the athletic and post type player we are looking for.

Losing? Hmmm, two 50+ win seasons in a row and your tired of losing?.. Im curious as to what you consider winning?

You know what I'm tired of? The mediocrity hamster wheel and your prescription basically would ensure that.

Unless an All-Star caliber player somehow magically falls to us using the assets Olshey has available to him, I'm in agreement with you. the typical roster to compete for a title a team needs at least one A-level player, one A-minus level player and a 3rd banana really good player. Right now, Dame is probably at the A-minus level and maybe can get to the A level. There may be a player on the existing roster who can become good enough to be the 3rd banana guy (CJ, Leonard and Vonleh are possible candidates), but it would be surprising if one of them got to the A-minus level. I think we need at least one trip to lottery land to get that guy since the odds of a FA signing or trade to get that quality of player seems pretty remote. Once we have that guy, then it's time to start dumping young pieces for veterans.

Joakim's a possibility, he's been hurt and their frontcourts loaded..they might wanna give Portis minutes and Mirotic some more run. He's not young though so I don't really see the fit.
If you can name one young big that actually makes sense and is a possibility, please do so, cuz I can't think of anyone..

The only thing left to do is crack open an ice cold Coors light tonight, hop on top of my wife, flop around for a few minutes and pass out and sleep.
