Now that AD is a Laker, what is our next opportunity to get frustrated? Blake Griffin?

Where do we go from here guys?

I wouldn't be too frustrated about not getting Blake. He is more injury prone than Davis.

Were gonna end up with Kevin Love on draft night. Or we’re gonna use our expirings to move up and get an expensive rotational player.

Blake Griffin is gonna end up in Oklahoma for a bunch of role players and a 1st round pick, and we sign Nik Stauskas again, that would be so typical

How the hell is OKC gonna trade for him? They have no assets.

Better not involve anything more than a combo of ET/Hark/Leonard/Skal/Trent/25.

Hark, Leonard, and #25 is my offer but idk if that’d be enough. They’d probably ask for either Collins or Simons.

Lets not forget we've got a few nice bigs especially if we can keep Kanter.

It won't be much. Cleveland should be begging to get rid of that contract. I think they may have signed him thinking it was an asset that they could trade and get value. They have to realize by now it won't happen. They should be begging for the ending contracts of ET, and Leonard plus our 25, That is a fair deal

Dame, CJ, Harkless, Love and Collins until Nurk gets back.
Yes it is a risk due to health, but AD was just as injury prone and he was on a 1 year rental. (albeit a much better player) At least with this we are only giving up cap space after next season.

Do I detect desperation

What comes next is we limp through the first half of the season until Nurk comes back, we play well enough to get the 4th or 5th seed and then we lose in the first or second round of the playoffs. But it's okay because the 2020-2021 season will be different! Stotts will figure out how to beat the trap, our defensive scheme will defend the pick and roll, and CJ will learn to pass the ball!!!! :blazerwookie:

Next come the 4 horsemen, and then the fires, followed by the floods, followed by people wondering why the floods didn’t happen during the fires.
Fun fact, it's not uncommon for fires to occur in building above water level during floods!

Yes

I do think Love fits in well with our players. He fits next to Nurk and Collins. He gives us a PF who can spread the floor, sets a pick. rebound, and is an excellent passer.

But yes it reeks of desperation. I hate the constant nagging injuries and his contract. This year it would be no problem since you get rid of ET and Meyer's contract, but sure the next 3 years are around 31, 31, 29....... A little high.

I think Kyrie's going to Brooklyn with KD.

so what’s really next?

I’m assuming Bazemore is Hoods replacement.

So with Hood gone, and his replacement settled, who would you target in free agency with the tax MLE? Do we still try and dump Moe/Meyers to open the full MLE for someone not named Hood, and if so, who?

I think a power forward that can space the floor will be the priority either way.

I think you still have to try to bring back Hood. Dump Harkless to do it. We'd have Hood, Baze, and Nas as SFs.

Seems like a luxury and leaves power forward to guys playing out of position and some cheap vets. If they were to clear out the full MLE it would make more sense to go after someone like Mirotic or Brook Lopez, depending on where they envision Zach.

I've been searching Blazer rumors and there's not much out there but one article said we'd been talking with DeAndre Jordan...which would mean Enes is gone but it's probably just editorial fishing for material rumor fodder

Dame/Ant
CJ/Baze
Hood/Harkless
Collins/Aminu
Nurk (Biebs?)/Skal

So far, so good.

If quick is right and the team is looking to turn the page on Aminu as a starter, I can’t see him coming back unless like nobody pays him. I don’t know how much $8M per would cost with tax, but it’s too much to justify for a backup.

You're any team in the NBA. Do you want to pay Aminu starter's wages to start?

Chief needs to go, it’s time.

Him and ET were the two most frustrating players to watch last season imo.

I guess it somewhat depends on how they view Labissiere going into this season. If they think he can play you still have Zach, Skal, Meyers as bigs an Layman and Nas as small-ball 4s. Would need to sign a backup big.

It also depends on Nurk's recovery. You could get away with it for a month or so but anything longer would start to really hurt the team, and the likelihood of one of our bigs getting hurt grows and we'd have nothing to replace them with.

Portland's priced out of Lopez and Mirotic though, so at that point it'd likely be bringing Aminu back for his bird rights, not dumping Harkless, and using the Tax-MLE.
