Man, does this thread feel like one of those farts you have, where the fart coming out is really hot and you just know that the smell is going to overpower you and almost be worse than anything humanly possible?

Or is that just HCP who experiences those?

either the leagues has figured out roy or he has some kind of injury. not the same player

Or, and I know this might be hard to grasp for some people and is a wild and crazy conspiracy laden theory, it's the pre-season.

You forgot the obvious answer: he's forgotten how to play basketball.

It happens. Kinda rare, but one day you wake up and all your sports skills have fallen out of you. It's possible Tyreke Evans or Stephen Curry stole his skills and added it to their own talent. Have you seen them? They're true superstars, the kind Portland doesn't have, has never had and will never have.

Why you gotta say a brother stole something?

Brandon must have stolen somebody else's mojo ... probably Nic's judging by the boxscore.

That happened to me. I was NBA all-star talent, and then when I was 3 years old, I woke up and all that talent was gone. Such a waste. I think maybe the dog ate it.

I've heard of this... it's called Space Jam Syndrome.

If Roy is only going to get 9 FGA/32mpg, why the fuck did he get a max contract?

It looks like people got their wish. Roy is becoming a beta player. Go Miller! Lead us to the Promised Land!

I agree. He'll never make the preseason All-Star team with numbers like that!

I was only mildly interested in the game, so I didn't follow everything that happened, but it looked like Roy turned it on in the second half. Am I wrong? He went from very little production in the first half to 16 points of 6-9 shooting and 4-4 from the stripe. I can't really complain. Roy had 16, Matthews had 16 and Rudy had 14. That's pretty good from the shooting guards. If anything, we desperately need some more scoring in the front court.

The Jazz announcers on the stream I listened to kept saying "Roy is starting to control the ball in the second half, and that's his game"

To anyone who saw it, is that true?

Bad news. Roy needs to play off of the ball and run through screens. This is one thing that I've learned from this board.

I'm sure most who've watched him would agree that he's very good #1 option. Dude can take most any defender 1 on 1 and get/bury a variety of good looks. But thats not all he can do... and when he's dominating the ball other players aren't making plays/cutting their teeth

At least in my view, preseason shouldn't be about reproving what a team already knows, it should be about flushing out some of the unknowns.

You sure you heard that? Or are you just making stuff up to support your relentless claim that McMillan is a bad coach?

My post literally had nothing to do with Nate or his pathetic coaching. I was just curious if what they were saying was true.

Why in the world would anyone make that up? I like to follow Rodney Dangerfields logic, so I won't lie to you, I will lie to girls.

I think you need to understand something, Zags. I'm not that guy. I'm not the hey look at me I'm over here guy. I love the Blazers and like talking about them. I have a different view than some on the state of the team, but that's it. I'm happily married, have 3 wonderful children, I am successful and happy. I don't need to make shit up on the internet. So maybe you can stop with all the baiting? I don't blame you, maybe you weren't hugged enough as a child, or maybe your wife or girlfriend is abusive? Whatever it is, I am not the cause of it.

first you have to understand mediorcre man that zags could watch the blazers shoot air balls an entire game and would still find an excuse for lousy play. thats just who he is.

anyway.... roy has peaked. its sad but true.

- still waits too long to get going.

- bad knees

- seems to lost his explosiveness

- doesn't score like stars do.... effortless

- doesnt get easy shots

i will make a bold prediction... roy doesnt make all star team this year

What's sad about an all-star and top 10 player in the league peaking? I will give you that Roy has bad knees though. And I have been the one making excuses for Roy. I said it's because he is trying to change his game to fit with Miller.

Only 2 assists tonight for Roy, and 0 rebounds. What happened to the complete player we knew and loved?

You really are stretching this out as long as you can huh?

He's dogging it. He'll end up a failure like Drexler. You should support a team worthy of you, not this miserable group of choking quitters with no heart or hustle or spunk.

That's right, there's no spunk. Inside them.

Don't tell Christine O'Donnell

Roy is the one "stretching" things out. He's played 3 pretty lackluster games so far this pre-season.
