Coerce what?

That's why I say it wasn't terrorism. More like a protest - the removal of the statue.
Seems pretty clear he wanted to kill and seriously injure people who were of a different political belief. Why don't you want to call him a terrorist?

You're such a troll dude.

Man I got nothing but love for all y'all in here. I ain't trying to troll, or be mean, or whatever. Excuse my snark I guess, but I feel pretty strongly about these shitbirds.

imo, if somebody is infiltrating a Nazi group to try and bring them down, yeah, they are cool in my book.

Hey Further!

How did you learn so much about this dude from Ohio? I read he was 20 years old, and it sure seems he is way less than brilliant.
I guess they will charge the guy for killing the 32 year old white woman. He might be a some of the rubble of the nation, but how do you know it is a terrorist attack?

National security advisor H.R. McMaster on Sunday said the car attack at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va. was terrorism.

“I certainly think any time that you commit an attack against people to incite fear, it is terrorism. It meets the definition of terrorism,” McMaster told ABC’s “This Week."

McMaster’s comments come one day after a vehicle mowed down a group of counter-protesters at the white supremacist rally, leaving one person dead and multiple others injured.

James Alex Fields Jr., 20, of Ohio was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the car attack, and federal officials have opened a civil rights investigation.

McMaster on Sunday called for the United States to “extinguish in our nation” the “hatred and bigotry” on display in Virginia.
“We have to do that by asking ourselves what are we teaching our children around the dinner table. What are we teaching our children in school?” he asked.

“We ought to be teaching them about what makes America exceptional, and that’s our commitment to the rights of every individual, liberty, freedom, respect for each other regardless of race, religion, and so forth.”

President Trump received criticism following his statement after the attack when he condemned hatred and bigotry but put the blame on “many sides.”

"What was the driver trying to coerce, Mr. McMaster?"

Someone better interview this kid and find out. People gonna ruin his life.

It's ironic that the people who can't say "radical Islamic terrorism" now want to start complaining about Trump basically doing the same thing with a different group.

It's ironic that people who were mad Obama wouldn't say "radical Islamic terrorism", now don't think it's a big deal trump won't say basically the same thing with a different group.

Well, if Obama starts denouncing Radical Islamic Terrorism, then Trump should also denounce White Nationalist terrorism. But if Obama doesn't I'll just chalk it up to Trump following Obama's example of non-specificity.

Intimidate OR coerce.

Sure seems like it was striking a blow for white nationalism against an ideological foe for political purposes and I'm guessing it was fairly intimidating, no?

EDIT: I'm referring to the driver of the car, not the movement writ large.

Charlottesville: man charged with murder was pictured at neo-Nazi rally

The man accused of murdering a woman by deliberately driving into her during protests against a far-right rally was photographed earlier in the day standing with the white supremacist, neo-Nazi group Vanguard America.

...

Photographs from earlier that day appear to show Fields rallying with Vanguard America and carrying a shield bearing the group’s insignia. He wears the white polo shirt and khaki pants that are the group’s uniform.

Vanguard America were a highly visible presence at the Unite the Right rally on Saturday, where they marched in military-style formation, and the torchlight rally the previous night on the University of Virginia campus. On the group’s Twitter account, and on social media accounts belonging to regional chapters, there was extensive promotion of the Unite the Right rally in the weeks leading up to the event.

The group’s motto, “blood and soil” was a popular chant at both events. It is derived from the Nazi slogan “blut und boden”, which links conceptions of racial purity with a particular national territory.

...

The mother of Fields told the Associated Press on Saturday night that she knew her son was attending a rally in Virginia but did not know it was a white supremacist rally.

“I thought it had something to do with Trump. Trump’s not a white supremacist,” Samantha Bloom said, before becoming visibly upset as she learned of the injuries and deaths. “He had an African-American friend so ...,” she said before her voice trailed off.

...

Military records appear to show that Fields served in the US army between August and December 2015.

American Fascism
Vanguard America’s manifesto, American Fascism, details its desire for a white ethnostate, the restoration of strictly patriarchal families and limiting the influence of “international Jews”.

Of Vanguard America, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) says the group “is particularly focused on recruiting young men and has engaged in unprecedented outreach efforts to attract students on American college campuses”. Its leader, military veteran Dillon Irizarry, has said “the future is the youth”.

During the 2016-2017 school year, chapters were active in posting flyers on college campuses in 10 states, from Arkansas to Oregon. On the group’s website, printable flyers bear slogans including “Beware the International Jew”, “Imagine a Muslim-Free America”, and “Fascism: The Next Step for America”.

...

On Twitter on Saturday night, Vanguard America denied that Fields was a member, despite his presence with the group, and his uniform dress, saying that “shields were freely handed out to anyone in attendance”.

But Denny said he was just a history and statue lover who only went there to spread love and knowledge of the civil war.

But he had a black friend...

:biglaugh:

But Denny said he was just a history and statue lover who only went there to spread love and knowledge of the civil war.

Got this straight off Free Republic, regarding the driver:

"If I write a school paper about Hitler, does that make me a Hitler sympathizer?"

Why must the left insist on persecuting history buffs?

But he had a black friend...

Don't know why you constantly edit my posts and insist that I am insulting somebody but everybody else gets a pass. It's bullshit but we get it Sly you have the power. So powerful. Anybody you disagree with, you edit their posts. It's been proven. Kinda ridiculous

Well, if that were true, Denny would never get a word in edge-wise.

Stop with the personal insults. If I see them, I edit them.

You know I do this yet you continue to insult people you disagree with. Now you're suddenly claiming that I'm picking on you and attacking you. Go thru your posting history, I bet I'm at least top 3 in people of have liked your posts. Have you also noticed that I've edited or deleted posts attacking you?

And yes, I've got the power!

It wasn't a terrorist attack because he's not Muslim.
The white kid needs our love and understanding.
He was provoked by the counter protesters who infiltrated the peaceful white protest.
In fact I bet this white kid wasn't even a supporter of the protest, he was a Bernie supporter and we know they are all violent.
