Another thread where there are NO arguments. Interesting. I’m really loving this new vibe around here. Reminds me of days way back!

There's an old saying that what teams are selling to their fans is hope. A team with Nurk hurt, Kanter/Hood/Curry gone and Aminu/Hark/ET being key members of the rotation was not a hopeful situation. Instead of hiding behind "we made the WCFs!", Olshey was the most assertive we have seen him in a long while. I'll say it: kudos to him.

Makes one wonder if Paul Allen was the one holding back Neil from making trades/changes. With all due respect to PA. Of course.

I really dont think so. Honestly i just think neil has transformed his priorities with the team making a deep playoff run

This is such a good deal it’s ridiculous.

We got rid of Mo Harkless, who barely seemed interested most of the time, and Meyers Leonard, who never developed a post move in 7 years, and got back a double-double player who one year led the NBA in blocks and one year led the NBA in rebounding.

You have to be crazy not to love this deal.

I like our players, but they need to be smarter ffs

Wanna win a ring? YOU GOT SWEPT IN WCF. YOU GOT SWEPT IN 1ST ROUND BEFORE.

Cry about Meyers, ET, Mo or Aminu. .Yeah, yeah they are good friends. Don't care. Be real. Wanna win? Don't post shit like this in public.
Let's see. CJ tried to recruit Whiteside to the Blazers in the past. Mo and Meyers are expendable, and I doubt his closest friends on the team.

I don't think that was a negative tweet.

Whiteside shot 45% at the FT line last season. But he shot 70% the season before. He's all over the map in more ways than one.

The good news is that he's consistently good on his FG%. He shot 57% last season, way better than any Blazer starter.

they can trade Whiteside for Love

When would the earliest that could happen. I wonder if that is Olsheys plan. Maybe see how Whiteside plays and decide what he wants to do whether its keeping him or trying to get someone like Love. Love of course is the better fit next to Nurk, but we dont know when Nurk will come back or how long it will take him to adjust to games.

And he did it without having to sweeten the pot with draft picks. And in the worst case that Whiteside doesn't work out here - he traded expiring deal for expiring deal - no long term risk!

The more I look at it, the more impressed I am.

I just wanna give Olshey some credit here. He could’ve just run the core of the squad back next year. Instead he’s taking some risks. Whiteside is a risk, I don’t care that it didn’t cost much in terms of return. Moe and specifically Meyers (and Evan) were core locker room guys. But it shows he trusts Dame and the culture to get the best out of him, because when Whiteside is on his game, he’s a terror.
The championship this season went through Toronto...could have been an issue with Kanter not leaving the country.....Whiteside is Ed Davis on steroids...what he needs is leadership and we have that with Dame...Dame will convert him just like he did Nurk….Nurk changed when he got here, I expect Hassan to do the same...it's the culture HERE that affects these guys we bring in...not the culture where they came from

My bigger concern with Mo was his knee. The time he had to take off during really important times in the season tells me he's not long for this league. Not because of his skills, but because his joint can't take the wear and tear.

So Dame is a great leader, but Dwade and Spoelstra are pretty good too...
