So we should draft Ryan Kalkbrenner?
Because he's surprisingly good at basketball?Isn’t Jase Richardson a tiny combo guard? Why in the FUCK would we take him?
I guess SOMEBODY has to be the first NBA-level Lithuanian guard since Sarunas Marciulionis... Kind of surprised it wasn't Jasikevicius. As much as I like Jase — you 100% take Jakucionis if he’s there. Period end of story.
Isn’t Jase Richardson a tiny combo guard? Why in the FUCK would we take him?

“Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe still have a long way to go, and a guard like Jase Richardson at No. 11 could add a new dimension to the backcourt. Richardson is super small after measuring at six-foot even, but he’s an elite shooter with a great feel for the game. Richardson just knows how to find soft pockets in the defense to relocate for threes, and that would be a big boost for the Portland offense that needs shooting.”

Skimming podcasts this morning…
Bulls want Egor…
Brooklyn enamored with Jaku…
All aboard the Jase train!

I think we are trading on up to get Kon.
Who says Schmitz wants Egor?Mike Schmitz wants Egor. Why settle with Jase when we draft ahead of the Bulls?
Why not just go get Trae Young then.
Well, he's a basketball junkie with the "Eye of the Tiger" even at a young age. Has more game than just shooting and is built for durability. If you want to be a contender you need superb shooting of which there Blazers are the third worst in the league. He also has a good handle. Why?
Who says Schmitz wants Egor?
Who says taking Richardson over Egor is "settling"? (I wouldn't take either at 11, probably, but I can see Richardson contributing much more easily than Demin. Demin is like Toni Kukoc without the shooting, and when Kukoc came to the NBA his shooting became his contributing factor.

Defense.
Jase will have a steep learning curve but he’s a dog on defense with an impressive feel.
Trae would turbocharge the development of the young guys but his defense is just as bad as Ant’s—if not worse.
How good of a defender can a player who is 6' actually be? He's gonna get hunted.
Weaknesses:
* Lacks elite athleticism and burst; struggles to separate consistently off the dribble.
* Undersized for a two-guard; limited vertical pop and explosion at the rim.
* Low three-point attempt volume raises concerns about scalability of his shooting.
* Not a full-time initiator; 1.9 assists per game suggests more of a combo than pure PG.
* Needs quicker release to adjust to NBA-level closeouts.
* Doesn’t draw many fouls or dominate in isolation (0.786 PPP).
* Role ambiguity at the next level – may fall between point and shooting guard without a clear niche.
Nice take by these guys on who the Blazers may look to take at #11:
Summary:
^ Rasheer Fleming
^ Egor Demin
^ Carter Bryant
- Cedric Coward
- CMB
v Derik Queen
v Noa Essengue
v Kaspara Jakusionus

His shot is nice though, even if it wasn't falling his freshman year. His shooting at the combine was on par with the lights out guys in this draft. I think his shooting will end up being just fine. If he's there at 11 and Essengue is off the board then I'd say Demin is the highest upside guy.I chuckled at the one guy who was a big Denim fan and tried to justify it by saying Demin kept shooting three's, "with confidence", even though he was lousy at it, all season long. I think that's the definition of chucking
When has "hunting" ever really worked? It really doesn't pay to dump your offensive plan just to try to post up a little guy - particularly as so few players are good at posting up these days. I mean Lu Dort should get "hunted" all the time - he's just 6'2". But they've got him defending Jokic out there and doing a really good job.How good of a defender can a player who is 6' actually be? He's gonna get hunted.

Yes I am talking about form.I don't know what that means. Are you talking shooting form? Jake Layman had excellent shooting form but ended up a career 30% shooter on threes
Demin shot 27%, and 154 attempts is a solid sample size...and it was the college 3 point distance. Sure, he might end significantly better shooting threes from the NBA distance, but how probable is that? Anyway, I just thought it was funny that an obvious Demin fan tried to make it be a plus that Demin shot three's with confidence but missed 3 out of 4
I take it you didn't watch the Lakers much post trade or the Blazers when Nurk was on the team. There are many other examples of fruitful hunts I could listWhen has "hunting" ever really worked?
