on one hand: glad Simons is finally gone and the decade of undersized, bad-defense combo guards is over....on the other hand, 35 year old Jrue?...on one hand: the potential of Joe giving Simons a 35M/year deal is deleted....on the other hand, Jrue has a 35M/year deal then runs till he's 37....on one hand: the Blazer defense got better....on the other hand, the offense got worse....but, back to that first hand, will the offense really be worse if Jrue's experience & skills make him much better at running an offense than Simons?....on the other hand, does this say anything about Scoot?
The Blazers had 96 minutes for 3 guards before (32 mpg per player) and they still do, I do no think that bringing Jrue to replace Ant does anything for Scoot's ability to get minutes. What it does is opens the offense for Shae who is now expected to be the #1 option in the backcourt for the Blazers (with Deni being the designated wing scorer)
How many hands do you have!!!??
Nah, it's not just "now or never" for Sharpe, it is also for Portland's FO to understand if he is the guy. He will be the featured back-court scorerAs is, Sharpe will be coming off the bench in a four guard rotation with Scoot. Jrue/Deni will start in backcourt. Camara, Grant and Ayton up front. Deni and Ayton should be the first and second options with Grant the third. But we all know Grant will try to be the first option. There is no way Portland is gonna have $35 mil players coming off the bench. Clingan and Thybulle added make the nine player rotation. The rest of the roster is not even worth mentioning.
As is the roster doesn't make a ton of sense and I think it's crazy to be making such bold assertions about who will start and who will be in the rotation. There are just too many unknowns to be so sure about anything with this team right now.As is, Sharpe will be coming off the bench in a four guard rotation with Scoot. I will bet that one of Scoot/Shaedon does not come off the bench. And there's a chance both start. Even if we keep Jrue and Grant. But I understand the skepticism.

No there's no compelling reason besides the fact that Ant is gone and we will see who is here when the dust settles. If Scoot or Shaedon come into camp having made a big jump... that would be your compelling reason. I just don't think there's any reason whatsoever to be sure of anything about this roster right now.I believe the skepticism is because of Chauncey
over the last 3 years, the Simons/Ayton/Grant combined to play 449 games; they started 449 games. There really no compelling reason to believe that will change next season
Even as is I think it's pretty tough to know who will be slotted where.Which is why I start with "as is."
Like I said, I understand the skepticism, but I can’t change anyone’s mind so let’s just wait until the season starts shall we?I believe the skepticism is because of Chauncey

Probably Scoot. Then is Deni or Camara the sixth man? Or Scoot?
