Who is really the cancer here?

I'm just waiting for Felton to say, "how do you expect me to play point guard when there is no offense to run."

Next time you watch the blazers, count at any given offensive possession, how many people are actually moving and doing something. Most of the time, its the ball handler and one other guy. the other 3 are just standing around watching...

That's the most tired excuse. Nate apologists always say if you fire Nate, there's no one out there to replace him. Well, that's why its called a coaching SEARCH. Chicago hired Thibs without any head coaching experience. The Pacers have a nice, young coach in Frank Vogel. At one point in time legends like Phil Jackson and Greg Popovich were unknown entities. Those teams did their homework and found a good coach. There is no rule that says you must hire a head coach retread.

And even if you wanted to go the retread route, Rick Adelman and Kevin McHale were available in the offseason...
Once again, this is spot on. I frankly don't want the Blazers to hire a retread. Identify a great young mind and take a fucking chance. Isn't that how the accidental zillionaire got his zillions in the first place?

That hasn't worked out very well in the GM spot, and the last thing the Blazers need, IMO, is a coach that will be underpaid, can be pushed around by Vulcan-types/Larry Miller, and is expendable.

Also, who was the last "great young mind", on his first head coaching job, who took over a team without a legitimate MVP and won a title with that team?

I can't think of one.

Why the fuck do we still not have a GM? Seriously, what's the hold up? Now we're in a situation where we could use a new coach, but don't even have a GM to help find one. Maybe Paul thinks that by having both positions open at the same time he can lure someone like Phil Jackson or Jerry Sloan to Portland.

Or maybe I'm just giving Paul Allen way to much credit. Maybe he really is this fucking stupid. Maybe he is the accidental billionaire that fell ass backwards into a huge ass fortune thanks to someone else's vision and talent. That might explain why he has fallen from the 6th richest man in the world to the 57th and his net worth has plummeted from over $41 billion to $13 billion. Is it just me, or does everything this guy touches eventually lose value? The guy has literally pissed away $28 billion. And now his team has no GM, an ineffective coach, no leadership and no direction. Sadly, I'm not surprised.

BNM

I understand you don't like Paul Allen, but this is very harsh.

Maybe the fact he has dropped off in wealth has something to do with how much money he gives away each year. He literally gives away hundreds of millions a year to charity. He has decided to enjoy his fortunes and share a lot of it with people and organizations that need the money. Doesn't sound stupid me.

Every year, Philanthropy.com ranks the American men and women who donate the most money to charity.

This year, Portland Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen ranked No. 3 on the list, donating an astonishing $372.6 million in 2011. He was the No.1 American giver who is still alive.

So throw a shitload of money at Phil Jackson.

Yes, because we should just swallow following a losing franchise and blindly cheer like robots.

Or, you could act like an emotional basket case and 'be done with the team' how many times now, only to keep coming back?

You're the Jersey Shore cast member of the board these days. :)

As opposed to you, the "Joe The Plumber"-rank intelligence of "Nothing is wrong, everything is great!", apologist of the status quo. Given the choice, I'll take my emotional unhinged attitude.

Who said nothing is wrong? Also, my post was funny, and was meant to point out the absurdity of complaining about things that we can't control.

Yours is a bit sad, though. :(

Weren't you on an Fan Advisory board at one time?

To the OP Mags:

Did the cancer just metastasize this season, and was it a malignant sleeper tumor before this season?

Ahh, so that's why you are so tolerant of Obama.

Yours is a bit sad, though. :(

What's sad is your acceptance of mediocrity. Then again, that explains your political views as well.

I was indeed, and I flat out told Steve Patterson to his face that a winning team would solve all of his PR problems, and that if he focused on getting out of the first round vs. jettisoning all of the "bad seeds", the fans would flock back in droves. Needless to say, that didn't go over very well. Foolish emotional me expected that the Board actually was created to do something and give real input rather than be a PR stunt. I was disappointed.

Seek help, chris_in_pdx.

Don't know. Just looks like shit more so this season. It maybe because Roy isn't playing anymore

I'll take that as a submission.

Yes, that's what I'd expect. What politics have to do with anything in this thread, other than all of politics and politicians being a cancer at this point, only exists in your mind, Chris.

Fine. Then we agree to never talk about politics again, even on the OT board. I'll be fine with that.

You're the one who can't handle it, Chris. I'm not sure why you brought it to this board in such an overt manner, though.

Aren't you the one insulting my intelligence? That's just lame.

Nolan Smith is the cancer. He was hiding his talent until tonight's game.

SlyPokerDog, you are a complete joke and a buffoon on this message board, and each and every other poster here just laughs and shakes his head in amazement at every one of your pathetic posts. I sincerely hope that outside of S2, you are a normal everyday human being, and this act is just an online persona. But I wouldn't bet on it. Have a great night. Blazers played well tonight.

YEAH, TAKE THAT, SLY! :)

Again, seek help, SlyPokerDog. You're too angry, unless this is all some big ruse and you are deliberately pretending to have a split personality.

How many teams without a legitimate MVP have won the title?

Thank you. The two who ranked ahead of him were the estates of two dead billionaires who gave away money only in their wills.

This hatred of an angel like Paul Allen wouldn't exist if not for being led by the town Satan, Canzano and his Oregonian.

Under any other owner, we'd be an ordinary small market losing team year after year. That's the team that Allen's enemies deserve to have.

PapaG called out Chris in a half-dozen posts in a row, so Chris comes back with one post naming PapaG, and the post of CHRIS gets changed?

As someone who will soon put only PapaG stupid posts in my signature because he's kept mine up for hundreds and hundreds of posts, I don't see why the moderators allow PapaG to name names, but those names can't name him back.

SlyPokerDog is a moron, who doesn't understand basketball and pretty much ruins the off-topic forums.

Plus he has "dog" in his name, which is some kind of terrible. Stupid SlyPokerDog.
