2022:

Jalen Williams is injured right now, but he's a couple tiers better than Sharpe. Jalen Duren would help. Dyson Daniels has been better than Sharpe in the playoffs, but if you prefer Amen Thompson in the 2023 draft, you can't really have both players stinking things up from 3

2023:

Amen is better than Scoot. yeah, I know, Scoot's game 2...but then, there's Scoot's game 4. In the playoffs, Amen has averaged 21-7-7 and has arguably been Houston's best player.

2024:

I know Clingan is getting a lot of flack, but I don't see anybody in his draft class better

2025:

Coward, Derik Queen, Carter Bryant

I really wanted Duren. I wanted Amen over Scoot (even though I still think Scoot will be good). Clingan was a good pick. As for 2025, no comment.

Amen is shooting 0.0000 percent on 3-pointers in the playoffs.

Maybe Amen's teammates suffer when the defense doesn't need to defend him as a shooter away from the hoop. I'm sure the Spurs would be smart enough to take advantage.

That is the last thing the Trail Blazers need on offense.

After we lost the coin flip, I wanted The Round Mound of Rebound. Jordan wouldn't have been a bad choice, though.

It's a shame the Blazers were so convinced they needed someone special at center, instead of taking Barkley, which was their next choice after Bowie.

Who did the Bulls win with at center? Bill Cartwright, Luc Longley, Bill Wennington, and Will Perdue.

he's only taken 3. What's worse, Amen going 0-3 or Clingan going 3-18? Meanwhile Amen is 31-55 on two's....56.3%.

Playoff numbers:

points/game:
Amen 20.5....Scoot 17.5
rebs/game: Amen 6.8....Scoot 1.5
assists/game: Amen 6.8....Scoot 1.5
turns/game: Amen 2.5....Scoot 2.0
assist/turnover: Amen 2.7....Scoot 0.75
steals/game: Amen 2.0....Scoot 1.0
3ptFG%: Amen 0%....Scoot 46.2%
2ptFG%: Amen 56.4%....Scoot 51.9%
TS%: Amen .587....Scoot .619
OffRating: Amen125....Scoot 111
DefRating: Amen 111....Scoot 120
NetRating: Amen +14....Scoot -9
PER: Amen 21.0....Scoot 13.4
winshares: Amen 0.7....Scoot 0.1
winshares/48: Amen .183....Scoot .047
BPM: Amen +4.0....Scoot +0.1
OBPM: Amen +2.1....Scoot 0.1

Scoot was shooting out of his mind in the first 3 games. But his numbers are so far above his norms it's not credible to think his efficiency is sustainable. Meanwhile, Amen's shooting numbers are in line with his regular season numbers. Amen is playing significantly more minutes so that will skew his per game numbers compared to Scoot, but it is the playoffs

the offensive rating and OBPM numbers kind of disprove the assumption Houston's offense suffers without Amen shooting three's.

impact-wise, it's a slam dunk in favor of Amen, even without the 3-ball

The more things change...

I mean, Coward is the obvious choice but any others?
I should have made it clear: I mean in just the 2025 draft. Maybe a kindly mod could add that to the thread title.

Derik Queen is intriguing. Given how Kenny Lofton was able to bully the younger Wemby, he certainly would have had a better shot at drawing fouls on Wemby than Clingan.

Carter Bryant has also been mentioned, and if nothing else, it would mean that he wouldn't be pestering our guys as a Spur.

Here's a little thing about Jalen Duren. He may have cost himself some $$$ with how he's performing against the Magic.
The Pistons were not able to reach a deal with Duren. "I think the team didn't understand my worth."

"He looks like he forgot how to play basketball, and he doesn't care."

If you like Duren, better watch this video.

Duren isn't a bad player, but how much is he worth for Detroit? That will be interesting.

Jesus, looking at that draft reminds me that the Thunder drafted Thomas Sorber. Now if that Clippers pick goes top three, they literally will have too many good players.

I think young players need to treat their first big contract as a stepping stone. Going for the whole enchilada can really handicap your team, especially if you don't live up to it.
