It all depends on the money we're talking about. He's our 6th man, right? How much money do we throw at a bench position when we have other needs in the starting lineup?
Sign and trade.
He was when Dame was hurt. He's a starter now
He was when Dame was hurt.
But now? With Hart?
I see Hart at SG with Ant first off the bench.
No. The Blazers traded CJ and Norm to give the keys to Ant. He will start next to Dame with Hart likely coming off the bench.
I've seen this movie, everyone dies in the first round.
Detroits got some cap space, Ant falls into their age youth movement.
Most teams are loaded at guard. I think they use Cade & Hayes as pg's, Diallo's a sg but maybe not scorer that Ant could be.they are at 86M. Add 8-10M for their draft pick and it's 95M. Then add Bagley's 28M cap-hold and they are over the salary cap. Say Bagley quickly signs for 18M...they have 9M in space
they also have Cade Cunningham, Killian Hayes, Hamadou Diallo, and Cory Joseph at guard, and three of those on rookie deals. So they aren't desperate for a guard.
I don't think they are a big threat. Ironically, if the Blazers trade for Grant using their TPE, it might open enough space for the Pistons if they wanted to make an offer for Simons.
Just like CJ should have been a 6th man.If the Blazers were smart Ant would be 6th man, but they’re not, so we are going to keep on trucking with a shitty defensive backcourt.
I just think Hart & Dame would make a good starting combination. Hart is feisty defender and gets to the hoop more than Ant has in the past anyway. If the Blazers were smart Ant would be 6th man, but they’re not, so we are going to keep on trucking with a shitty defensive backcourt.
I thought he’d be starting next to Dame? It be nice if he would be a six man however few players want that Jamal Crawford type role.It all depends on the money we're talking about. Sign and trade.
And its not necessarily a negative if a sign and trade is explored by all. Could be exactly whats needed to better balance the roster. Im sure all sorts of opportunities are explored. If Simons wants to stay and have an improved Blazers roster, then he will field possible offers but accept none. Portland needs him to stay at his cap hold. If that happens, his agent will have been assured of a significant contract with Portland or a sign and trade at the right time. If he accepts an early offer, then team B gets to wait the maximum time while the Blazers try to conclude all other deals.
Sounds good. Ant to Detroit, Olynyk, Little and the MIL pick up Toronto, Grant and OG to Portland.S&T with Detroit or Toronto if Ant and his agent want out of Portland
