Whom Do You Dislike The Most?

I loved Rider and Bonzi. We made the playoffs and won playoff rounds with them.
 
I mostly liked Damon. And Sheed although there were times I wanted to wring his neck. (I once wrote a feature on him, and yes it was published, titled Sweet and Sour Sheed.

Least respected and most hated are not quite the same. A person with no talent who botches plays is unrespected. Hatred is a lot stronger IMHO and more personal.

I'd have to put Patterson at the top, or bottom if you will. Rape conviction tops pot smoking and profanity any day. Bonzi, because while Sheed was always Sheed and we knew it, Bonzi kept saying oh my bad, I'm going to change, this will never happen again, blah blah blah and two days later...Besides, it wasn't just team or fan, he made that promise to me personally and broke it.

And BTW, no mention of dog fighter Qyntel Woods?
 
I mostly liked Damon,but not Sheed. Sheed is the only player I ever wanted to do bad after he left the Blazers. He had a lot of talent, but only would play well when he felt like it. To much of a head case and I couldn't stand it when he didn't have enough motivation to play when he was getting 16 or something million. What bs. Man, don't get me started on Sheed!! I could go on. Going to cut this rant short.
 
Felton . . . he sucked and was so disrespectful to the organization. Also, never warmed up to the Ptd fans. Bonzi was a flat out jackass, but at least he could ball (when not spitting or blacking out)

I hate myself for chanting Camby's name and him being one of my favorite players when in the end, for him, it was all about him and not the organization . . . still trying to figure out if his invovlement with the community was genuine.

Unlike Theo Ratliff, I believe Marcus Camby was sincere, professional, and truly liked it here until Crawford, Felton, and Wallace quit. I don't blame him anywhere near as much as I do the others, Felton in particular.
 
I don't dislike any of them, especially the ones on Whitsitt's always-winning teams.
 
No mention of Kenny Anderson? Whitsitt's weakness was free agency. He just couldn't resist shiny-looking free agents. (And if we hadn't signed Kenny we wouldn't have been able to trade for Stoudamire, and we would have kept ALVIN WILLIAMS as our PG. And RULED.)
Hated that we HAD Rider, although beating Utah and Minny in the playoffs with him was pretty sweet. He was just a space cadet.
Never hated Bonzi, although I probably would've if I met him.
Hated Ruben (but kind of loved the way he played, just because he went all-out) - he's probably the most despicable of the Jail Blazers.
Hated having Shareef, even if he was supposedly a nice guy.
Damon at least got us that one win (of their ten total losses) over the 72-win Jordan Bulls in Chicago. (Followed immediately by a fifty-point loss to the Pacers...)
No hate for Fat Shawn Kemp?

God yes, Shawn Kemp, where was my memory? Definitely my least respected. So much talent. Such a waste.

You're wrong about the Bulls' 72 game season. Damon did not play for us that year and we did not beat the Bulls. It was in the 1997-98 season that we beat the Bulls in Chicago. Bulls didn't have the best record in the league that year. Utah did.

You're right. Mind playing tricks. Although it is true that the '72 win Bulls lost to a (then rookie) Stoudamire-led Raptors team in Toronto.

It was in the 1997-98 season that we beat the Bulls in Chicago. Bulls didn't have the best record in the league that year. Utah did.

Man he was a huge bitch at the game. He was whining the entire game about calls going against him.

But he's a stud man. His footwork is some of the best I've seen since Hakeem.

KingSpeed, during a game at Golden State (actually after the game) Wells got into it with a GSW player (Troy Murphy as I recall) and was suspended several games. His first game back was in Sacramento. In those days they still let me bring my post game cakes right up to courtside so I got to casually know (not biblically!) several players, including Bonzi Wells. He came up to me to say hi before the game and I said something like glad to see you back, Bonzi. He replied he was glad to be back and he would never ever do anything that would take him from the team again, promise.

So that's the grand story of Bonzi Wells' broken promise to me.

pretty sure you're referring to Chris Mills who was battling Bonzi for rebounding position as Rasheed hit a game winning jumper. They were tangled up as the ball went through, but then Mills went ballistic and escalated matters causing a mini-brawl to break out and the crowd to go nuts. In the melee that ensued, Bonzi threw a punch that wiffed. Desperate to beat up Bonzi, Mills then made some calls to get his boys together and they menacingly surrounded the Blazer bus detaining it for an hour plus. Bonzi undoubtedly had said something less then cordial, but Mills was the one who went way off the deep end.

I like how this turned into mostly a $amon thread. He used to just make me burn, and his girl friend Jason Quick, too. Of all the players mentioned so far, most, even $amon, had their supporters and produced something useful on the court. Others were fairly inconsequential. Others may have been douches or criminals, but I don't feel like they were universally reviled for it.

The one guy who as far as I can tell gave us high expectations, yet had no redeeming qualities as a Blazer, who greatly contributed to one of the worst Blazers seasons ever, and seemingly had no fans, was Felton. I'm going to say Felton.
 
Damon was by far the worst. He wasted so many promising Blazer seasons with his terrible play for extended minutes. He made all of our PG backups look like all-stars and then he would complain so much the team played him. He was always bitching about one thing or another and for some reason there were always a few players, media and fans that bought into his crap.

Rider, Bonzi and Patterson played great on the court for us, they were just idiots off the court. Rasheed was frustrating because he had so much unfulfilled potential, but he still was the most effective Blazer. Rasheed was a great family guy and one of the few players to live here year round.

Damon wasn't hated that much. Most of us realized his limitations, and it's not like he was an asshole. He was a low-usage PG who a part of some very good Blazer teams.
