I don't think Carville is particularly influential with Democrats these days. Guys like him and Paul Begala were bigger in the 1990s and early 2000s, but they're Clinton Centrists who only really resonate with older centrists. Even younger centrists aren't really going to know who they are.

Oh I know, he's and old campaigner just like some of the old politicians that are still around. Its got to be a hunger for Power and/or Money for someone in the mid 70's to want to run for President.

Probably my fav all time show...aside from the regulars, I particularly liked Floyd, Otis, The Darlings, and of course, Earnest T. Bass.

And Andy's interaction with Opie is great...there's always a lesson to be learned with those episodes.

My favorite Andy Griffith movie, and it's really a no contest, is "No Time for Sergeants". I'd still laugh my ass off if I watched it today for the 20th time in my long history of watching that movie.

He was also endorsing Michael Bennet at the time. Given that Bennet got approximately zero votes, I'd say Carville had not a whole lot of influence.

I like listening to Carville, although I wouldn't necessarily assume his political instincts are still keen.

Yeah, I find him interesting I wasn't sure who he was endorsing but it wasnt Bernie.

Im now thing Harris as I believe she's pretty tight with Obama. Im sure Barrack has given Joe his 2 cents worth.
 
i am going to add another less discussed candidate for the position to my short list. susan rice.
edit besides her credentials as national security advisor and us ambassador to the UN, she was on point in the ebola outbreak and was the individual responsible for establishing the directorate for global health security and biodefense, the office dismantled by the current administration that would have had the plan for and the response to the virus.

I don't think Biden will choose someone so old as his running mate, since age is an issue of his.
 
As far as making "age" an issue, we need to keep in mind that if Trump wins a second term he will end up being as old as Biden is now.
 
Biden will play no part in the selection of his prospective running mate, nor will it be anyone who can stomach being near him. It will be a woman who can be controlled, Harris or maybe Obama, as her hubby is starting to look like he's in trouble.

Even he knows if he somehow won he'd be a showpiece and nothing more, until he dies soon after taking office. It's why he's doing everything he can to look senile. He's running to avoid prison, either buy getting back in power or by playing dementia.

yes, she was part of his administration both terms and often in the headlines. very bright and very well spoken candidate that checks a bunch of the boxes.
edit almost willing to bet that if biden wins he will announce that he won't seek a second term paving the way for the vice president whom ever she may be.

While Abrams would undoubtedly energize the left, especially the African American community, I don't think she has enough experience.

She'll be facing off with Mike Pence who works for a guy with ZERO experience...She's more qualified than Trump or Pence...I just think they'll go with Harris for photogenic reasons.
