Who would you trade the 30mil for?

DMC would be great. but my guess is if we can make something like that happen, it will end up being mid season when he realizes how horrible it is playing with rondo. we just have to hope that he says he wants to leave before the team says don't worry DMC we are going to get rid of rondo.

I think it's more than just rondo. There is a mutual discord between Karl and himself.

indeed there is
I was more playing on the thought that rondo will be what sets him over the edge.
I am guessing his technical foul numbers will be a decent indicator of this. lol

Well, I guess we can agree to disagree then. I think if Boogie is available, his value will drop. I look at it like other teams that had to trade their franchise player away. They usually get hosed on returned talent.
they get hosed because prospects burn out as often as they fulfill even the slightest of optimistic hopes. And players as good as him get a big package.. think of Melo... He netted Denver Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Ray Felton back when he was decent and not a fat piece of shit and someone else that I forget along with picks. Thing is, I'd want to get rid of Aminus $8M so that we could pursue a max level player in the offseason.. also because you want floor spacers around DMC.

that's what I'm thinking.. dealing with Rondo and Karl after years of mediocrity might be too much. It'd be great to get him at the trade deadline. Hopefully we'd have a terrible record by then cuz Id wanna put Labissiere at the 5 next to Cousins.... that's a match made in heaven.

I believe Mosgov was also a part of that deal. Of course, you apparently also forgot that NY got Chauncey Billups, Renaldo Balkman, and Shelden Williams from Denver, as well as Corey Brewer from Minnesota.

Davis, Plumlee, and Harkless?

Even better

Now this Im down for!!! all three of those guys can be replaced because there really isn't much upside left, except for Plumlee, but his D can be a liability.

Much rather do this and then fill in the roster with role players and that's a contender right there as long as CJ and Leonard improve as projected.

I really hope we make a run at trading for Boogie at the deadline. I think there's a good chance that he could be traded at that point, and I think we have the pieces to put together a good package. We should use the first half of the season to try building trade value in guys like Harkless, Plumlee, Henderson, Aminu, and Davis. If push comes to shove we could include McCollum OR Leonard OR Vonleh, but only one of them.

Paul clearly doesn't want anymore trouble makers/badboys on his team.

So looking at historically with trades of players that worn out their welcome, the team trading them usually gets the shaft.

.

It's true that the team giving up the star usually ends up withthe worse end of the deal and, even those I intially thought that offer is too much, I think sac would still be on the losing end of it. I really do like a lot of the young guys you have but Plumlee is a rotation player, will never be an all star. Noah could end up being good but at this point looks like a bust. CJ is Monta at best in my opinion. And with Cousins I think you make the playoffs so odds are they get nothing worthwhile with those picks. After a few seasons, this trade will be seen as the best C in the league for no one that Sac fans even remember.

I think CJ could be a more efficient, better defender version of Monta. Plumlee is an above average center (per 36). And Vonleh was hurt almost all year so you can't make an accurate read on him

Can you please explain your notion that Noah is a bust when he was injured most of last year, is only 19 and just made summer league All NBA?

For as many of us who think he has a huge upside, we have been told its too early too tell, well wouldn't that be the same if we are calling him a bust?

You have to explain yourself on that to be taken seriously. :) I do like your last sentence though!

If this Blazers team actually lives up to expecations. I hope Olshey uploads an Ace Ventura style hip pumping video on Youtube. That would be great.

I think Vivek is the most fragile owner in the league right now, he is fresh meat for a guy like Olshey.

LaMarsha was a nice shy bitch, but we got burned from her too.
I really don't think Cousins is that bad compared to LaMarsha...he can give you thug loyalty which is very underrated and all the players love Stotts (how can you not?) so everything will be alright imo.

I don't know if I agree with your takes on those three players.

1.) Vonleh hasn't even played significant minutes due to injury, so I'm not sure how you can claim he's a bust. When healthy, he looks like he's fully capable of being a solid contributor. He's probably the best chance of being an all star.

2.) I actually see CJ as a Jason Terry that can play defense. That's very valuable IMO.

3.) Plumlee is too young to even consider him just a rotational player, plus he was backing up their star center Brook.

You keep Vonleh or Leonard if you trade for Cousins... Probably Leonard because he can play the 5 and put Cousins at the 4. If Nic has a good year next year I could see bringing him back because he's be perfect next to Cousins... basically we cash give up whoever as long as surround him with 4 shooters and another wing that can run pick n roll

I'm not sure I would take nic back. this season he is going to be fighting for a contract after being traded. if we sign him again in fee agency I am guessing it'll be right back where we were.

If we somehow land Cousins we need to go ALL IN on Durant. We'd be better than the Wiz.

That's the key. Land a borderline superstar like Boogie and things change drastically for the better in the quest to land Durant or LBJ.
